Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Blue Reckoning

During the middle of a battle between the Black Knights and a terrorist organization in the Yokohama Settlement, Lelouch and C.C. found themselves engulfed into a mysterious light taking them into a different world.

As the two settle in with the new environment, an impostor of Zero shows up claiming that they have taken Nunnally hostage.

Tropes

  • Blatant Lies: As part of his plan to take down the fake Zero, Lelouch made two fake lies to make the impostor panic: he managed to obtain the antibodies from Nunnally (there's no such Sky Realm technology that can do this) and he released a stronger virus at the island the impostor is hiding in (he used his Geass on the townspeople to simulate a pandemic).
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Carmen was presented as a haggard woman whose ramblings lead to Suzaku's arrest. It's only until late into the event that she's the culprit behind Nunnally's kidnapping.
  • Enemy Mine: Lelouch, Kallen, and Suzaku all put aside their own differences in order to save Nunnally and take down the fake Zero.
  • The Guards Must Be Crazy: While imprisoned, it didn't take long for Suzaku to conclude that the guards don't actually care about his innocence and threw in random charges against him for more money.
  • I Choose to Stay: Lelouch doesn't care too much about going back to his home world as long as Nunnally's safety is assured.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: The Captain as Zero present themselves admitting defeat in the battle of wits against Delfina, with the latter not knowing their actual role is just a decoy for Lelouch. Note that Lelouch only commanded the Captain to take on the role of Zero, everything else is the Captain's doing.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Delfina has every opportunity to kill Nunnally if she wanted to. She doesn't since Nunnally is a Living Emotional Crutch to Carmen and fears that she'll lose it completely if Nunnally dies.
  • Replacement Goldfish:
    • Carmen considers Nunally to be a substitute for her long-dead younger sister as she was blind just like her.
    • Subverted regarding Delfina's case. While Delfina tries to fill in the role as Carmen's younger sister, the latter only sees her as her murderer.
