• Bunny-Ears Lawyer: As Five and Miko discover, Emma’s a little nutty but she is good at what she does.
• Establishing Character Moment: Emma is introduced by making a dramatic entrance out of a giant cat-beast's mouth, only to exclaim that she found her car keys.
• Faux Horrific: Miko treats reading a nine page video game manual as torture. However she'll do it if it's for Ally's sake.
• Line-of-Sight Name: Alpha gets his name from the Greek symbol of Alpha on his shoulder.
• Power-Up Food: Miko learns that Ally has these, which not only restore her life-points but also give her a fire form (not only that it's revealed that there are several variants that give additional power-ups).
• What Measure Is a Non-Human?: For Miko, Ally is a beloved friend, but she also says she doesn't want to think too hard about whether or not as a glitch she counts as being alive or not. When Ally seems to be broken, Five asks why Miko doesn't just get a new one (using the logic that no one would know) Miko states that she would know that it wouldn't be the real Ally. After his own adventure with Alpha, Five understands where Miko is getting at.
