Don't be fooled by this image; Mr Morris is very much not a jolly old man!

Jackie's mother, Nelly, brings round a "male companion"; the frightening Mr Morris.

Tropes:

  • Chekhov's Gag:
    • Nelly asks for two shots of Brandy in a clearly terrified voice. When we meet Mr Morris, we find out why as, despite both of them being in an affair with Mr Morris' wife, she still hangs around with him.
    • Mr Morris' terrible parking is a Running Gag, and is also the reason why Jim, in a break from formula, knocks on the kitchen side door, not the front door. When Adam, Jonny and Mr Morris visit the local petrol station later on, Mr Morris' car is lodged into the building of said petrol station.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Mr Morris, though in a strange inversion, he's terrible at parking, rather than driving on the road.
  • Insistent Terminology: Nelly calls Mr Morris her "male companion", which Jonny immediately (and rightly) lampshades as sounding like a male escort service.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: Nelly, when pressed about the affair her and Mr Morris were having with the latters' wife. She claims it's not adultery, Mr Morris comes in to giver a Flirtatious Smack on the Ass, and then coyly admits that it may be like that.

  • Insane Troll Logic: When Mr Morris asks for Adam to pay for the formers' condoms and the replacement car headlamp:
Mr Morris: Well, aren't you going to pay the man?
Adam: Why do we have to pay?
Mr Morris: Because if your grandmother had never existed, I'd never have driven into your doorstep!
Adam: And that's actual logic, is it?
  • Never My Fault: Mr Morris blames the Goodmans' House for his own parking skills:
Mr Morris: Your bloody house broke my light!
  • Running Gag: Unusually, Jim knocks on the side door, rather than at the front, though that's because of Mr Morris's terrible parking skills.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Mr Morris seems to think so at least. He asks the family puzzling questions about his life, and gets annoyed at them guessing "too low", when the answers he often reveals are not that far off what each family member says.
  • What Does She See in Him?: The family are baffled by why Grandma would be with Mr Morris, and Jackie asks Adam and Jonny to work out Mr Morris' "intentions" with her mother, and when they eventually tell her that they plan to have sex later, she's not pleased.
