Go To

VPC pitches an ad for the local dating app Love Match Supreme, but the CEO says they can only have the job if they can all bring dates to their Valentine's Day dance. Micah and Ryan try to attract dates by performing music in the streets, Devin and Zona search a local mall to catch a date, and Owen tries to play up his natural charm at a local bar.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Actor Allusion: Devin and Zona search the mall for potential dates and approach two mannequins, referencing the Studio C sketch "Love From Afar" .
  • Aside Glance: Owen winks at the camera to play up his natural charm.
  • Brick Joke: One of the couples touted by Love Match Supreme to show its success is a cat and a hedgehog. Devin and Zona later see this couple at the mall.
  • Gilligan Cut: After Micah insists he knows the correct words to the Love Match Supreme jingle, cut to him making the same mistake while doing it in front of the CEO.
  • Repeated Rehearsal Failure: At the end of a jingle, Micah is supposed to whisper the name of the dating app they're advertising, Love Match Supreme. Every time they practice, he whispers "Love Match Surprise" instead, claiming it's a stylistic choice.
  • Sexophone: A saxophone riff plays when Owen arrives and tells them about his success using the Love Match Supreme app.
  • To Be Continued: The episode ends when the VPC gang decide to make dating profiles.
  • Valentine's Day Episode: VPC has to find dates to attend a Valentine's Day dance.
  • Wink "Ding!": Owen's "natural charm" wink is accompanied by a ringing bell.
