Go To

Frasier's unscrupulous agent, Bebe Glazer, is engaged to his radio station's new elderly manager, Big Willy, who asks Frasier to get her off a smoking habit she has.

Tropes:

  • Age-Gap Romance: Big Willy is four decades older than Bebe and they are engaged.
  • All for Nothing: Frasier's progress in getting Bebe to kick the habit in order for Big Willy to be willing to marry her ends up going down the tubes when Big Willy drops dead during the wedding.
  • The Dreaded: Played for Laughs. Daphne and Martin react with horror when Niles announces that Bebe is staying over for the weekend in order to kick her smoke habit.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Right when Frasier is explaining to Bebe that his new manager has a fiancée, he is soon clued in to "who" exactly the fiancé is.
Frasier: He wants me to play therapist to his little fiancée. No doubt some gold-digging piranha so devoid of scruples that she's willing to rob the coffin and just... (He sees Bebe kissing Big Willy through the glass of his radio booth) Oh, dear God!
  • Gold Digger: Bebe is transparently marrying Big Willy for his money.
Bebe: Isn't it wonderful? We met last month, and it was Love at First Sight.
Roz: (sarcastically) First sight of what? His bank book and a cardiogram?
  • Right Behind Me: Big Willy comes in while Bulldog's back is turned when the latter is in the middle of insulting him. He panics when he finds out that Big Willy heard everything.
