Recap / Family Guy S 17 E 12 Bri Robot

Go To

Worried about the legacy he'll leave behind when he dies, Brian asks Stewie to help him write an autobiography. Stewie, however, does Brian better and builds him a robot that's like Brian in every way. Meanwhile, Peter gets a job at a massage parlor that turns out to be one used for sexual services.

  • Batman Gambit: Stewie's plan with Robot-Brian was to demonstrate to Real-Brian both how mediocre and insufferable he is for anyone to want to read any kind of biography of him, least of all himself.
  • Jerkass Realization: Over the course of the episode, Brian finally realizes just how annoying and pretentious he can be.
  • Milestone Birthday Angst: The beginning of the episode involves Brian dreading his birthday, since it'll get him closer to death.
  • Mirthless Laughter: Peter gives out long, stilted laughter after expressing that jokes about his weight make him cry in private, followed immediately by someone making a crack about it. The second time he's also giving Broken Tears.
  • Really Gets Around: Once Robot Brian's purpose is fulfilled Stewie lets him go free to live in Miami. He's getting near-constant alerts on his phone from sensors placed in Robot Brian's butt and mouth.
    • In addition to this, apparently Brian himself has repressed desires to be used the same way according to Stewie.
Stewie: Remember, Brian, it wouldn't do anything you wouldn't do!
  • Robot Me: Designated his ghostwriter, Stewie decides to make Brian's biography a walking archive of his life with a robotic replica of him that gradually learns from Brian how to act exactly like him for future generations.
  • Screw Yourself: It doesn't take long for Brian to "fall for himself" and go this route. However, he eventually grows to detest his robot self.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Robot Brian shows from Brian's search history how he obsessively started cyberstalking a waitress he met at Applebee's, gradually refining his search to find out all manner of personal information until he learns where she lives. Later on, he and Robot Brian are complaining about how freaked out she was by seeing him outside her apartment.
