Shockingly, Fargo is not dreaming this.

Allison: For the next 48 hours, they will try to push you to your limit. Physically, psychologically and emotionally.
Fargo: Uh, but don't worry. We haven't had a death or psychotic break in, like, forever.
Carter: That's reassuring.

Carter has to complete GD's super tricked-out fitness test. Meanwhile, scientific equipment goes missing and Jo is sending mixed messages.

Tropes

  • Arbitrary Scepticism: Allison and Henry dismiss the possibility that Julia has switched identities with Jo pretty quickly given what usually happens in Eureka.
  • The Chanteuse: Fake!Jo in a slinky red number singing Makin' Whoopee! with Fargo on the piano.
  • Easily Forgiven: Julia is pretty quickly forgiven for stealing Jo's identity to attract Fargo. Sure, she helped cure Jo, but Jo wouldn't have needed curing without her. Julia's progress in the field of DNA manipulation is specifically cited as a reason she's being let off easy, and her genuine remorse for the chaos she caused by masquerading as Jo likely weighed in her favor.
  • Green-Eyed Monster:
    • Fargo is apparently quite jealous of Zane being with Jo. Mad at Zane, Jo is friendly to Fargo to make him jealous.
    • After failing to get Fargo's attention, Julia uses Jo's DNA and stolen GD supplies to attract him by becoming Jo's duplicate.
  • Leg Focus: During "Jo's" musical number, she whips back the long red skirt to show off her legs. The patrons of Cafe Diem are quite appreciative, if the whistles, applause, and exclamations are anything to go by. Even Vincent is awestruck.
  • Not Herself: After Jo receives a massive electric shock, and after her intense re-certification exam which can have "side effects," she starts acting strange, including making out with Fargo. As it turns out, a GD scientist intentionally turned herself into Jo's duplicate.
  • Pass the Popcorn: After Jo's wild night of karaoke and Fargo-kissing, she wakes up hungover and remembering none of it. When Fargo shows up with flowers, SARAH is happy to be a witness, but Zoe doesn't feel like leaving and stands watching the delicious awkwardness while snacking on something.
  • Something Only They Would Say: Zane is able to work out which Jo is real when "Julia" is able to tell him all about their first and second dates.
  • Worf Had the Flu: The events of the episode happen while Carter is stuck doing tests, thus preventing Carter from realising what's happening in his usual fashion. This is also because Colin Ferguson directed the episode.
  • You Have to Believe Me!: Said by Jo when she's stuck in Julia's body, trying to convince people she's not just a crazy Julia.
