With the police call from Episode 1 being received and the Arsene Amulet still not found, Molly and Giovanni face off with Sylvie’s bovine dream projection Dr. Beefton. After winning, the three have to team up, just as Mera finds the Amulet…
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Bull Seeing Red: Double Subverted, Giovanni uses his red cape to bait Dr. Beefton, and the doctor responds by claiming an academic bull like himself wouldn’t fall for it. Only for him to charge anyway.
- Defeat Means Friendship: Molly and Sylvie go from fighting each other to Sylvie offering Molly free counseling for her past trauma.
- Inner Thoughts, Outsider Puzzlement: Sylvie tries to think of the best way to get past Indus, assuming Indus is Obfuscating Stupidity, and beginning a game of “mental chess”, only for it to devolve into nonsense as the words “beef” and “sheep” overlap each other. What’s going on outside of his mind is Sylvie standing silently with a hand to his chin, twitching and not blinking, much to the confusion of everyone else in the room.Molly: Is he…dead…?Giovanni: He’s just been standing there not blinking for forty seconds.
- Obfuscating Stupidity: Subverted. Sylvie can not belive that Indus is as dumb as he legitimately is.
- Paralysis by Analysis: Sylvie's planning of how to avoid Indus and stop Mera from taking the Amulet quickly devolves into a spiral of neuroses that leaves him a quivering wreck.
- The Reveal: Mera’s Epithet is revealed: Fragile, and with it, the reason why she wants to steal Molly’s: to dumb down her chronic pain.
