After helping a village from a horde of fiends, Euden's team suddenly find themselves attacked by the very same villagers they had just helped, who Cleo points out an evil aura eminating from them. Just then, a strange man arrives and disspells the aura with holy water. The man's name is Nevin, and he is joined by a dragon named Ramiel and a fellow apostle named Pinon, who have come from the Ilian Church of Grams to deal with an epidemic known as wroth, and they came hoping Euden's party would help them deal with the problem while being minimal with the details. They begin by building a base of operations within the Halidom and a statue of the Goddess in order to repel the wroth with holy mana.

After getting the statue set up, the party set off to hunt fiends. As they fight, the apostles admire their strength and teamwork. However, the crew then witnesses the power of an apostle through Pinon slaying a fiend using a Sigil. After dealing with the fiends, Pinon finds out from Nevin that Myriage Lake is under attack by more fiends. After that, Nevil pinpoints the source of the wroth to potentially be in the Shaif Ruins.

Upon arriving at the ruins, the party finds the man behind the wroth and theft of the sealing stone to be a priest of the Ilian Church, who injects himself with wroth miasma and sets free a demon from within the stone whom he fuses with. The demon takes on the form of Ramiel in front of the party.

Upon defeating the demon, Nevin and Pinon attempt to seal the stone away together. However, the priest manages to take the stone and send it back to the church as he turns back into Otherworld Ramiel. With motivation given to her by Basileus, Pinon takes on the demon herself with the rest following her long enough for Sandalphon to arrive to inform the group that the demon's ties to the stone have been cut, rendering him mortal and granting the heroes the chance to finish him off.

With the wroth contained and the demon defeated, Euden and the gang part ways with the apostles as they say their farewells.

Elsewhere, Harle meets up with a man named Cardinal Graht to learn the results of the wroth experiment, finding out that Euden had defeated the demon with the apostles. Despite this, Basileus arrives to deliver the stone to the two of them.

This event contains examples of:

  • Evil Twin: The Otherworld Ramiel is this, having inverted colors not just with his clothes, but also his hair and his chosen element, in stark contrast to his good twin.
  • Foreshadowing: The involvement of Cardinal Graht in these events is a crimson flag to the true nature of the northern Ilian Church, where he makes his campaign appearance in Chapter 17.
  • Holy Water: Nevin introduces himself throwing holy water on Luca while casting a prayer to Ilia to purify a village tainted with miasma.
  • Later-Installment Weirdness: The Statue of Ilia facility is 2x2 in the Halidom instead of 3x3. Also for this event's first run, once Otherworld Ramiel is revealed, players had to wait for the next bit of story and to be able to fight him. The latter holds true in Divine Deception as well.
  • Sequel Hook: The end reveals Harle to have a some involvement with the wroth along with revealing Basileus to be in league with the ones responsible.
  • The Man Behind the Man: While Otherworld Ramiel is the main threat, it turns out all of this was done by Harle and Cardinal Graht.
  • This Cannot Be!: Otherworld Ramiel shouts this when not only is his power to the miasma cut off, but also blasted to death by the Apostles.
