- Foreshadowing: When the polar bear climbs up to Boots, he does not look at all ferocious, as he has a neutral expression on his face and looks concerned. As it turns out, he was trying to help Boots get his kite down.
- Good All Along: After Boots is rescued, the polar bear tells Boots that he is friendly and the reason he was climbing up to him was because he wanted to help him get his kite down.
- Gratuitous Spanish: Diego unties the knots while counting in Spanish.
