Japanese Title: X4, The Crisis Breakthrough!
In an unnamed desert Zone, MailBirdramon fights a Okuwamon as Kiriha and Nene look on. Nene tells Kiriha that Taiki has obtained the Island Zone's code crown and some DigiMemories, but is in danger. Okuwamon tries to attack again and Kiriha has MailBirdramon finish it off with a single attack before heading to the Island Zone.
At the Island Zone, Dorulumon and Cutemon watch the Seadramon approach the island. As the Seadramon surround Taiki's group, he tries to resummon Leviamon to deal with them, but is unable to as it only works once. Zenjirou and Akari suggest moving on to the next Zone as they already have the Code Crown, but Taiki refuses. Neptunemon threatens to kill Archelomon if Taiki doesn't hand over the Code Crown and the DigiMemories. Archelomon tells Taiki to move on and not worry about him. Even after ChibiKamemon tells them to leave, Taiki refuses as it would mean abandoning the islanders to Neptunemon's mercy. Akari and Zenjirou agree with his reasoning and Shoutmon plans to stay with Taiki either way. Taiki is about to accept Neptunemon's demands when Kiriha arrives on the scene and has MailBirdramon attack the Seadramon, incapacitating several of them. Kiriha offers to fight Neptunemon's forces in exchange for the DigiMemories. Taiki refuses because Kiriha does not value the lives of others and activates MarineAngemon's DigiMemory. A swarm of MarineAngemon use an ability that infatuates Neptunemon and his forces en masse. Taiki then DigiXroses Shoutmon and Ballisamon into Shoutmon X2, which carries him and Zenjirou across the water. Taiki also DigiXroses Starmon and the Pickmons into the Rare Star Sword for Zenjirou.
The last Shakomon on the path launches Soutmon X2, Taiki and Zenjirou onto Neptunemon's ship and Zenjirou frees Archelomon just as Neptunemon snaps out of his trance. Neptunemon orders the Gizamon to attack, but they are defeated quickly. Taiki tells the others to retreat, but Neptunemon knocks them into the ocean and has the Seadramon freeze the water. Neptunemon attempts to kill Taiki and the others himself, but is stopped by Dorulumon who frees them from the ice. Shoutmon X2 splits apart and Taiki DigiXroses Shoutmon, Ballistamon and Dorulumon into Shoutmon X3 and upgrades them to Shoutmon X4 by adding Starmon and the Pickmons. Before Shoutmon X4 can attack, Neptunemon throws his spear, which homes in on Shoutmon X4 despite attempts to block it. Archelomon tells Taiki to use the spear to his advantage and Taiki tells Shoutmon X4 to dive under the ice. The spear follows Shoutmon X4 underwater. Shoutmon X4 jumps out of the water and lands behind Neptunemon. Neptunemon grabs his spear in an attempt to stop it from going through him to his Shoutmon X4, which it does anyway, impaling Neptunemon and sending Shoutmon X4 flying. In one final attempt to kill Xros Heart, Neptunemon summons a massive wave, shattering the ice in the process. KingWhamon tells everyone on the island to grab onto something and Akari, Jijimon and ChibiKamemon all gram onto a tree with ChibiKamemon putting up a bubble shield around them. KingWhamon dives underwater as the wave passes over and saves Taiki, Zenjirou, Archelomon and Shoutmon X4 by swallowing them. KingWhamon resurfaces and expels Taiki and the others to ground level. The island's festival starts and Kiriha leaves with MailBirdramon. That evening, Dorulumon again declines Taiki's offer to join Xros Heart and ChibiKamemon leaves for the next Zone with Taiki and the others.

Engaging Chevrons: It takes two DigiXros sequences to form Shoutmon X4. - Equippable Ally: Literally the only difference between Shoutmon X3 and X4 is that the latter wields a sword made from Starmon and the Pickmons.
- Eye Catch: The one with Agumon, Garurumon, Guilmon and V-Mon popping out of Taiki's Xros Loader.
- Flaming Sword/Laser Blade: Starmon and the Pickmons become something halfway between these two for Shoutmon X4.
- Forgot to Gag Him: Archelomon, though it doesn't cause any problems for Neptunemon.
- Giant Wall of Watery Doom: Neptunemon summons one of these in one last desperate attack.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Neptunemon gets impaled by his own homing spear, which was chasing Shoutmon X4 at the time. Going through Neptunemon takes enough force out of the attack to merely send Shoutmon X4 flying.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Taiki sets things up so that Neptunemon gets impaled with his own spear.
- Love Is in the Air: MarineAngemon distracts Neptunemon and his forces with this.
- Making a Splash: Neptunemon's Wave of Depths attack.
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Shoutmon and ChibiKamemon do this to convince Taiki to let ChibiKamemon join them.
