Release Date: 22 March, 2017

La Sirenita (The Little Mermaid), recounts the original story of Hans Christian Andersen.

This is the story of a mermaid called Ariel that decides to check the surface and sees a ship where there is a huge birthday party for a young prince. But since they drank too much, there was an accident, and the ship sank. So Ariel goes to save the prince from drowning and left him at a nearby temple. When he wakes up, he sees a girl just passing by and believes she is the one who saved him, which angers Ariel.

Ariel asks her grandmother if humans become sea foam when they die. Grandma points out that they actually go to heaven, which convinces Ariel to become part of the human world. She decides to visit the Sea Witch to become human. The witch cuts off her tongue and gives her a potion that gives Ariel legs, however it is really painful to walk with them. And the witch warns her that she must marry the prince, otherwise she will die.

Then she goes to win the prince's love. She starts dancing for him to try to impress him. The king then comes and says that he has a bride for his son. The prince refuses, saying he will only marry the girl that (he believes) saved him from drowning. The king reveals that the bride is precisely the same girl, so the prince accepts her, meaning Ariel will die.

And so Ariel is there, on the boat where the wedding is being held. But out of nowhere her sisters appear... completely bald. Turns out they sold their hair to the Sea Witch to buy a special knife to save their sister. They explain that if she uses it to cut the prince's neck and pour his blood unto her legs, she will be able to live in the sea again. But even after everything, she still loves him and can't bring herself to kill him. She decides to commit suicide and accept her fate to become sea foam.

However, turns out that she didn't die, but rather became a daughter of the wind and if she fulfills 300 years of good actions, then her soul would raise to heaven, ending the story on a hopeful note.

The video contains examples of:

  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: The song points out that everyone on the ship had been drinking a lot. Next scene, the ship has crashed and everyone is falling into the sea.
  • Hope Spot: When the father gives the news he got a bride for his son, he vehemently refuses marrying saying he will only marry the girl who saved him, which really makes Ariel really happy. Then the king reveals the bride is the girl the price believes saved him, so he is more than happy to marry her.
  • Kick the Dog: When Ariel's death is basically imminent and the song asks what will happen to her, the prince just out of nowhere points to her just saying "Foam" to point out she will become seafoam.
  • No Name Given: Defied. They point out that in the original story the mermaid was nameless. But they decide to name her Ariel to make things easier to understand.
  • Protagonist-Centered Morality: The song points out that Ariel manages to save her prince. And it happily points out that she didn't care that all the other men drowned.
  • Spoof Aesop: The lesson in this song is that you shouldn't give away your tongue for drugs if you encounter a sea witch.
