''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucDGMr2Z3Lo La Sirenita]]'' (The Little Mermaid), recounts the original story of Hans Christian Andersen.

This is the story of a mermaid called Ariel that decides to check the surface and sees a ship where there is a huge birthday party for a young prince. But since they drank too much, there was an accident, and the ship sank. So Ariel goes to save the prince from drowning and left him at a nearby temple. When he wakes up, he sees a girl just passing by and believes she is the one who saved him, which angers Ariel.

Ariel asks her grandmother if humans become sea foam when they die. Grandma points out that they actually go to heaven, which convinces Ariel to become part of the human world. She decides to visit the Sea Witch to become human. The witch cuts off her tongue and gives her a potion that gives Ariel legs, however it is really painful to walk with them. And the witch warns her that she must marry the prince, otherwise she will die.

Then she goes to win the prince's love. She starts dancing for him to try to impress him. The king then comes and says that he has a bride for his son. The prince refuses, saying he will only marry the girl that (he believes) saved him from drowning. The king reveals that the bride is precisely the same girl, so the prince accepts her, meaning Ariel will die.

And so Ariel is there, on the boat where the wedding is being held. But out of nowhere her sisters appear... completely bald. Turns out they sold their hair to the Sea Witch to buy a special knife to save their sister. They explain that if she uses it to cut the prince's neck and pour his blood unto her legs, she will be able to live in the sea again. But even after everything, she still loves him and can't bring herself to kill him. She decides to commit suicide and accept her fate to become sea foam.

However, turns out that she didn't die, but rather became a daughter of the wind and if she fulfills 300 years of good actions, then her soul would raise to heaven, ending the story on a hopeful note.
