Having escaped the Wrath of the Decepticons, Optimus and the others races against time to save Lelouch from Megatron's Dark Geass. Will they be successful in saving the young revolutionary? Or will he suffer from endless nightmares...
- Adaptational Origin Connection: Lelouch's visions, coupled with the warnings given by the Thirteen Original Primes, heavily imply that Geass was created by Unicron.
- Bittersweet Ending: The Decepticons have managed to defeat the Black Knights and the Autobots, having decimated half of their troops, and are on their way to eradicating Britannia and beginning their rule over Earth. However, the remaining heroes manage to regroup, their ranks replenished by the family and friends who defected in the last few chapters, Lelouch is saved from dying of fear, Nunnally's sight is restored, C.C. (real name Cera) finally commits to a heroic life in order to give Optimus Prime a Geass to help in the fight, and the whole team, following Nina and Ratchet's idea, piggyback off of Megatron's call to the Decepticons in space to send out their own message to call all Autobots scattered across the cosmos to rendezvous with them on Earth.
- "Eureka!" Moment: While the Autobot/Black Knight alliance try to figure out a way to contact additional reinforcements, it's Nina who suggests hacking into the Decepticons' communications to extend their broadcast. Ratchet (who follows up with the idea of slipping a special Autobot frequency) compliments on her genius, causing her to blush.
- Gondor Calls for Aid: An example involving both the heroes and the villains - Megatron sends out a message informing the Decepticons in space to link up at Earth, but Optimus sneaks in a message of his own telling the Autobots to do the same.
- Heel–Face Turn: Lloyd, Cecile, Cornelia, Euphemia, Nina, Monica, and Nonette cement their previous defections in this chapter.
- Meaningful Echo: Cera uses Lelouch's "I hereby accept the terms of your contract!" to confirm her willingness to help Optimus and stay with all of her friends in return for granting Optimus a Geass to the other Primes, having developed from a cynic wanting to die to a woman wanting to protect everyone she loves.
- The Power of Love: Nunnally ends up being the one who helps Lelouch break free from Megatron's Dark Geass, in the process regaining the ability to see.
- "Ray of Hope" Ending: The Autobots and Black Knights get completely trashed in the Black Rebellion, with the Decepticons taking over Britannia and declaring war with all of mankind. However, our heroes are able to escape and regroup, and as Megatron sends out a call to summon more Decepticons to Earth, the Autobots sneak in their own message to call in their own allies.
- The Reveal: We learn in this chapter that the origins of Geass may lie with Unicron.
- Season Finale: Acts as the last chapter of R1.
