The Black Rebellion concludes with horrific results in the Decepticons' favor.
- Armor-Piercing Question: Shirley gives this to Nina when she's talking the latter out of her desire to get revenge by detonating the Ganymede in the Tokyo Settlement. Thankfully, it works.Shirley: You have every right to hate the Decepticons; even with how horrible Britannia is, they are even worse. But is this what you really think Euphemia would want? Nina, look inside of yourself and ask "would Euphemia really want everything to be destroyed?" And for you to sacrifice yourself while doing it?
- Big Damn Heroes:
- Suzaku and Dreadwing arrive just in time to prevent Airachnid from executing Euphemia.
- Just as Hardshell was about to terminate Ratchet, Bumblebee, Monica, and Cecile, Shirley charges in with the nuclear reactor-rigged Ganymede, knocking the Insecticon into Fixit's Groundbridge portal into low orbit (while ejecting at the last minute), and then has Nina detonate the bomb to finish him off.Shirley: [flying the nuclear-rigged Ganymede right at Hardshell from a Groundbridge] GET AWAY FROM THEM, YOU MONSTER!
- The Big Damn Kiss: Euphie kisses Suzaku hard on the lips after he and Dreadwing free her and Cornelia, before breaking down and crying into his chest.
- Bring It: When Lelouch and Suzaku prepare to fight Megatron, Megatron simply draws his blade and tells them "Come and face the dragon at your door." before they both charge at him in their Knightmares.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Despite their best efforts Lelouch, C.C., and Suzaku are hopelessly outclassed against Megatron.
- Downer Ending: The Decepticons, fresh off their conquest of Britannia, swoop into the battlefield of the Black Rebellion, slaughter half of the Black Knights' forces, Cliffjumper and Dreadwing are killed in battle, and Lelouch, Suzaku, and C.C. are teleported to the burning remains of Pendragon, where Megatron effortlessly beats them into the dirt when they engage him in combat. And as if that wasn’t enough, he also subjects both Lelouch and C.C. to his Dark Geass, with C.C. surviving only because of her immortality, and Lelouch still in its thralls as the chapter ends.
- From Bad to Worse: Not only do the Decepticons conquer Pendragon, but the Black Rebellion ends in catastrophic failure, with the Black Knights losing half their forces, Cliffjumper and Dreadwing falling in battle, and Lelouch being subjected to a fatal nightmare vision from Megatron’s Dark Geass.
- Heroic Sacrifice:
- Dreadwing sacrifices himself in an Energon explosion to stop Airachnid's Insecticon horde from going after Suzaku, Euphemia, and Cornelia.
- Cliffjumper grabs Luciano Bradley and throw himself into an electric generator, killing both of them in the following explosion.
- Heroic Second Wind: As Rai and his Gekka are pinned down by Dorothea and her Palamedes, he sees Knock Out and Breakdown about to kill Nonette and Bulkhead, and he becomes motivated to save them, refusing to lose his family again. He uses his Surge Claw to grab Dorothea, cutting her Knightmare in half before decking Knock Out away, and then charges straight at Breakdown, the two of them clashing weapons, resulting in Breakdown's head getting blown up.
- Insult Backfire: Upon learning what Megatron's Dark Geass can do, C.C. calls Megatron a monster and "the Devil incarnate". An amused Megatron mockingly asks if she only realized that now.
- Killed Off for Real: Both Dreadwing and Cliffjumper bite the dust in this chapter, and Breakdown is killed by Rai. Hardshell is also killed by Nina's bomb, and Darlton is crushed to death by an Insecticon.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Nina was about to go through one in a misguided attempt to avenge Euphemia with the nuclear-rigged Ganymede, but Shirley was able to talk her down.
- Say My Name: Both Lelouch and Suzaku yell "MEGATRON!" as loud as they can and charge at him together in their Knightmares at the start of their fight with him.
- Spirit Advisor: Alpha Trion's spirit comes from the Realm of the Primes to help Optimus break free of Megatron's Dark Geass.
- Wham Episode: The Black Rebellion is crushed, with half of the Black Knights' forces being wiped out. Rai kills Breakdown, while Cliffjumper and Dreadwing sacrifice themselves to kill Luciano and the Insecticon horde, respectively. Finally, Megatron uses his Dark Geass on Lelouch, trapping him in a vision which will kill him.
- What the Hell Are You?: V.V. is left shocked over Optimus breaking free of Megatron's Dark Geass which was supposed to be impossible to do and can only angrily wonder what exactly is Optimus.
