Go To

English and French Episode Title: XANA 2.0.

The former Lyoko Warriors start up the super computer again to see if some strange occurrences are related to XANA.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Dumbass: Jim, he thinks that Amps and Volts are German words. The former word is French, and the latter is Italian.
  • Art Evolution. And How. The Lyoko portions of the episode are now vastly better looking, everyone having a wider range of animations, so the recycled animations between episodes is down to basically zero, as well as the quality of the models has greatly improved, thanks to the technology improvements brought along in the early 2010's.
  • Call-Back: Quite a lot in the first ten minutes alone:
    • Jérémie shoots down Odds suggestion of picking up girls with the super computer, which alludes to a similar thing happening with Odd and Brynja in Season 4's Kadik Bombshell.
    • Aelita wants to go back to Sector 5, and mentions that it's to be around her fathers last resting place.
    • Ulrich and Yumi attend a sparring session to kill time, which is exactly how they met in the prequel series; XANA Awakens.
    • The way the gang pose in the elevator is pretty close interpretation to their animated-selves poses for the same situation.
    • Aelita's tower deactivation sequence is pretty accurate to the Season 1 style in terms of animation (she doesn't say "Tower Deactivated", nor does she do a backflip).
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Jérémie, though to be fair, he doesn't exactly look ugly in the original series either. The Same happens with Jim too, as he's much slimmer here, while Odd looks fairly young, and doesn't have his hair stand up on end, but it is gelled (which, to be fair would just look stupid in live action). Aelita's hair is as pink as ever, though.
  • Recurring Element: In general, the designs for Lyoko and the Warriors themselves remains largely consistent with the animated series, the only drastic design decisions that aren't adequately explained is the cylindrical towers going from circular to massive rectangular monoliths, and some of the warrior designs were tweaked to look more modern (Odd has three holes coming out of his paw now to show where his laser arrows come out of). Even the live action actors don't look too far off their Animeesque counterparts from the original series, the only difference being their clothing choices, which still retain their color schemes of the animated series. Even the live-action sets are largely based on the animated series, and seemed to only be limited by budget.
  • Technologically Blind Elders: Younger than most examples, but Jim clearly doesn't understand how computers work, or know how to use a circuit breaker.
  • The Virus: When XANA escaped Lyoko to his hiding place, He dumped parts of his source code into each member before escaping so he could retrieve it later.
