This TARDISode immediately follows "The Manhattan Conspiracy" and is the shortest of all the TARDISodes. The Doctor attempts to find out what exactly Kit was warning him about... and doesn't like what he finds.
This TARDISode Provides Examples of:
- Be Careful What You Wish For: The Doctor wanted to know. It's going to haunt him throughout the rest of the season.
- Bottle Episode: It's just the Doctor in his own room and the TARDIS — consequentially, the shortest TARDISode of the lot, nowhere close to reaching a word count of 1k.
- Break the Cutie: The Doctor's vicarious experience of what will end up breaking his Companions very nearly breaks him.
- Continuity Nod: Musing about the Visionary, who went mad from constant focus on the future.
- Foreshadowing: The point of the story. Rivers of tears ahead, folks!
- Manly Tears: Poor, poor Doctor...
- Stable Time Loop: The Doctor reasons that whatever will happen can't be too terrible, because Kit exists in the first place to warn him about it.
- Troubled Fetal Position: The Doctor finds himself like this when he "comes to" from seeing the future.
