Milo is worried his new telescope and dreams to make an earth-shattering discovery will be crushed! Only to wake up one morning to find it’s actually happened! He agrees to help Sanjay train his dog, Dookie Doo, to save him from family embarrassment, only to find a piece of his telescope in her mouth! What now!?

Tropes in this episode:

  • By the Lights of Their Eyes: After Milo closes the window shades after reading that "invisible aliens" won't be able to see them (which Milo thinks that Sanjay's dog Dookie Doo is being "attacked" by "invisible aliens" by making her "invisible" although in reality, she's actually covered in mud), he, Lizbeth and Sanjay can only be seen by the whites of their eyes. He then hears whimpering, so after Milo thinks that he catches Dookie Doo in the dark, it turns out it was actually just Sanjay whimpering due to him being afraid of the dark.
  • Covered in Mud: After Dookie Doo punctured a sewer line while digging, she runs away which hits the laundry outside, which leds to Milo, Lizbeth and Sanjay trying to catch her, only for her to throw them into mud, covering them and herself.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Milo uses a dog training kit to train Dookie Doo to act like a better dog, or else Sanjay's dad will send her away. It didn't work out as Dookie Doo wasn't paying attention to Milo on training.
    • Milo then looks up a book about "invisible aliens", which claims that the aliens have the advantage as they can't see them but if they turn the lights out, they won't be able to see them so they can all listen to Dookie Doo and grab her. Although in reality, Milo wasn't paying attention behind him due to Dookie Doo walking out of Sanjay's room in the background, he closes the window shades anyway and hears whimpering. It turns out that after Milo thinks that he catches her, it was actually just Sanjay whimpering due to him being afraid of the dark.
    • Milo then uses his dog whistle to call out Dookie Doo but once he blows it, it causes every dog in town to start digging up Sanjay's yard but doesn't know where she is due to being "invisible" although in reality, she's just covered in mud.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Milo uses his "Bird Brain" to try to think of a solution. The only problem is that he isn't paying attention because Dookie Doo is standing behind him, causing Lizbeth to yell out for him to pay attention. He eventually looks behind him and finds a piece of his broken telescope on Dookie Doo's plate. He claims that Dookie Doo saw invisible aliens and tries to tell the world by howling but no one was listening, so she decided to enter Milo's room to wreck his telescope to get his attention, just like in Quantum Vigilante Issue #76. However, after Sanjay finds Dookie Doo, Lizbeth then explains to Milo that there was no invisible aliens coming after her and the only reason why she was acting badly is because Sanjay wasn't paying attention enough to her. She then starts acting like a good dog which led to her cleaning up the house from getting mud everywhere, and Sanjay doesn't have to send her away now due to her improved behavior.
  • Suddenly Shouting: After Milo takes his time to think of a solution to find Dookie Doo from his "Bird Brain", he wasn't looking carefully as Dookie Doo stands behind him which Lizbeth tries to tell him about it but he keeps shushing her, causing her to yell out to pay attention to Dookie Doo.
    Milo: Think birdbrain! Think!
[Dookie Doo stands behind Lizbeth in the background, covered in mud]
    Lizbeth: Uh, Captain?
    Milo: Uh, not now, Lizbeth.
Lizbeth: But Captain, just look behi...
Milo: Just a sec! I'm trying to hear my birdbrain!
    Lizbeth: But...
[Lizbeth points at Dookie Doo repeatedly]
    Milo: Shh!
    Lizbeth: It...
    Milo: Nah!
    Lizbeth: I...
    Milo: Nyuh!
Lizbeth: CAPTAIN, JUST THIS ONCE, PAY ATTENTION!!
  • Training the Pet: The plot of the episode involves Milo helping out Sanjay to help train his dog Dookie Doo, to save him from family embarrassment.

Nothing But the Tooth

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bandicam_2024_01_01_21_46_32_383_6.jpg

The jawbreaker Milo ordered weeks ago has finally arrived. Just as he’s about to taste its sweet, sweet candy-shell – It’s a kid! In trouble! Max is afraid of a looming visit from the Tooth Fairy and Milo sets out to capture the fairy and prove he/she/it is harmless. But what if that isn’t the case? And what about that jawbreaker?

Tropes in this episode:

  • Bungled Hypnotism: One of Milo's failed solutions to help Max conquer his fear of the tooth fairy was to use hypnotism from his Frankenstein's eye jawbreaker. However, he screws up by talking to Lizbeth about making out the tooth fairy as an evil entity who steals teeth from children, which Max overhears in his trance and becomes that very description.
  • Caught in a Snare: Milo gets caught in a snare after Kirsten calls the Captain to help.
  • Consolation World Record: Milo wants to break the record on reducing a Frankenstein's eye jawbreaker to nothing in 24 hours, the longest lasting jawbreaker ever engineered. Just when he was about to eat it, Max calls the Captain to help to conquer his fear of the tooth fairy. He eventually did eat it at the end and went over 24 hours on finishing it, which he then receives a free jawbreaker as a prize.
  • Cry Laughing: After the lawyer cries over his broken teeth after biting the jawbreaker, he then starts laughing and thanking Milo for the jawbreaker since now he can finally meet the tooth fairy as that was his dream for his entire life, so he decided to put his broken teeth into his suitcase so he can put it under his pillow.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • To help Max conquer his fear of the tooth fairy, Milo uses a fairy catcher trap to trap the tooth fairy. In order for the trap to work, he has make Max sleepy, so he uses his jawbreaker to hypnotize him, causing him to sleep. However, as he reads the directions saying that you have to be careful for what you say because it may influence the subject, he accidentally calls Max a chicken, then a cow, then a mutated chicken cow, which then causes him to act like them respectively. He then screws up by talking to Lizbeth about making out the tooth fairy as an evil entity who steals teeth from children, which Max overhears in his trance and becomes that very description. Milo and Lizbeth then have to hunt him down and stop him from stealing other kids' teeth.
    • To stop Max from stealing other kids' teeth, Milo then uses his a fairy diviner which can pull him toward any fairies in the area, which backfires, as the diviner gets him out of control and lands at Tabitha's, which Max already scared her stiff. This lead to Lizbeth to call all of the other kids that Max is on rampage on stealing other kids' teeth, causing then to make traps in order to stop him, although the traps idea was Milo's idea.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Milo finds a note left by Max from the lawyers of the tooth fairy ventures, which Lizbeth reads that Max has to stop impersonating their client or else he will take serious action. Eventually, the lawyer came in to stop Max from impersonating a tooth fairy or else he will be sent to jail, so Milo then uses his "Bird Brain" so that the lawyer guy can just give it up. This led to Milo to undo the hypnotism by snapping his fingers, causing Max to stop impersonating an evil tooth fairy and returns back to normal. The lawyer was about to arrest Max for impersonating a tooth fairy but Milo offers the lawyer by giving up his jawbreaker that he was meant to break the record on eating it for 24 hours, so he accepted the deal, causing Max to not got to jail.
  • The Tooth Hurts: Just when the lawyer is about to eat the jawbreaker, he decided to bite it with his teeth, causing them to break, even if he wasn't supposed to bite it in the first place. This also happened to Milo at the end where after he received his free jawbreaker after breaking the record on eating the jawbreaker for 24 hours, he decided to bite it as well, which causes his teeth to also break.
Narrator: I think our hero has taught us something about believing today, and I believe... that's got to hurt.

How well does it match the trope?
