Sir George examines a very important-looking seal.
The Forever Knights crack a seal that releases a dangerous, interdimensional creature. This attracts the attention of the trio, who discover that this is only just the beginning.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Kevin gets antsy about Gwen interacting with Squire Winston.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: A strange, old man known as Old George, who has been living at the Bellwood old folks home since it opened, appears throughout the episode and, by the end, has somehow made his way to the broken seal. He'll be very important down the road.
  • Enemy Mine: Zig-zagged. While the trio and Sir Cyrus' faction work together, they do butt-heads from time to time. By the end, Sir Cyrus says their truce still stands unless they meddle with his operations again.
  • Fantastic Racism: Sir Cyrus displays the Forever Knights' hatred for aliens perfectly when Winston flirts with Gwen, saying that they may look human, but they all have alien blood that will contaminate him.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Gwen notes that there are so many Forever Knight groups she’ll have to start taking notes.
  • Motive Decay: Inverted in-universe. Sir Cyrus claims to follow the founder of the Knights' original goals and claims the other factions have lost their way.
  • Psychic Link: Having been connected to the creature for a brief time, Gwen discovers it calls itself Lucubra and desires to eat on its captive's thoughts until it leaves them as lifeless husks.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Sir Reginald, the Forever Knight who only appears in the first scene, ends up setting up the rest of the series by breaking the seal on the Lucubra.
  • Token Heroic Orc: Winston of the Forever Knights seems like the nicest member of them all. He defends the trio at the beginning since they weren't responsible for releasing the creature, as well being pretty friendly to them.
