Tropes

  • Amoral Attorney: Chadzmuth releases every criminal Ben and Rook apprehend, and those criminals go on to terrorize people as soon as they're free. Chadzmuth doesn't care as long as he gets paid.
  • Anti-Climax: At the end, when Bellicus and Serena are found to be guilty of remaking the universe, it turns out the penalty was a measly 5 tayden. Ben is annoyed
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Bellicus and Serena comment on the Galactic Gladiator's decisiveness like it's a bad thing, while he's in the process of beating them to death.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Fourarms and Eye Guy versus the Galactic Gladiator ends about as well as expected. Rook points out that only Alien X could actually do any damage.
  • Implausible Deniability: One client of Chadzmuth is holding up Mr. Smoothies, and Chadzmuth prevents Ben and Rook from arresting him because he's "allegedly" committing a crime.
  • Loophole Abuse: Chadzmuth's vast knowledge of intergalactic law allows him to find any loophole in any situation that allows him to win his cases.
  • Might Makes Right: Tetramand law allows them to challenge their prosecution to a fight should they lose their trial, and their name is cleared if they win. Chadzmuth gets Ben to turn into Fourarms to exploit this rule after he's found guilty.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much:
    • Chadzmuth is a Galvan who ignored the call of science and used his smarts to become a lawyer.
    • The Galactic Gladiator is a Celestialsapien whose two halves are in sync, allowing him to do anything he wants at any given moment.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Apparently, Celesitalsapien law had a problem with Ben using the power of Alien X to save the entire universe.
  • Removed Achilles' Heel: Ben comes to an agreement with Bellicus and Serena; they can debate all they want, and Ben will stay out of it and control Alien X. And so, Alien X is no longer dead weight in Ben's arsenal.
  • Sequel Episode: To "So Long, and Thanks For All The Smoothies", showing the legal repercussions of the destruction and subsequent recreation of the universe... yes, really.
  • Takes One to Kill One: Galactic Gladiator is a Celestialsapien whose personalities are decisive and able to act in compete harmony, which allows him to outmatch Ben’s aliens. Ben has to turn into Alien X, a Celestialsapien himself, and convince Serena and Belicus to let him control Alien X in order to stand a chance.
  • Tempting Fate: Chadzmuth smugly tells Ben that Ben might need his help one day. Ben doesn't find it very likely. And then the Celesitalsapien high council arrives...
