Things just got out of hand.
When Ben gets chased by a bounty hunter called Sunder, the hunter manages to catch up to him and swing at him with his axe. Ben gets teleported to the Null Void, while his hand stays on Earth and now he must get help to save himself and stop Sunder.- Actually Pretty Funny: Kevin’s reaction when he finds that Ben’s hand has been severed from his body. Gwen and Julie don’t see as much humour in the situation.Julie: It’s not funny, Kevin!
- Blatant Lies: After it gets sent to the Null Void with Ben’s hand, Kevin tries to fool Sunder into thinking the Omnitrix was destroyed. It doesn’t work.Sunder: You can lie to me, but you can’t lie to my scanner.
- Bounty Hunter: Sunder is one and here he's after Ben.
- Continuity Nod: Ben tries heading to Max’s old hideout from his time as the Wrench. But when he gets there, Havoc Beasts have taken over the place and destroyed everything of use.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Sunder’s own dimensional displacement tech is used to send him to the Null Void, leaving him at the mercy of the Havoc Beasts.
- It Can Think: Ben’s severed hand displays something of a mind of its own, crawling to find Julie, and instantly firing when it gets transformed into Diamondhead.
- Synchronization: Any pain dealt to Ben’s hand gets dealt to Ben himself. Julie whacking the hand with her tennis racket knocks Jetray back to normal in midair.
- Take a Third Option: Accidentally. When Sunder arrives to claim Ben’s hand, Gwen urges Julie to turn the hand to Humongosaur, while Kevin insists on Swampfire. A confused Julie ends up dialling Diamondhead, which proves useful to fight Sunder. (not so much for Ben, who is walking across a bridge at the time).
