Damien Wayne tries to use his family's advice to make a new friend at school while trying to hide how nervous he is. While his attempt to try to find someone with a common interest in animals fails, he succeeds when someone does share his interest in something he had not considered earlier: art.
Tropes:
- Ambiguous Syntax: When Damien's teacher lists other clubs that Damien could join since he's not allowed to join the Tennis club just to fight for Bruce's honor, Damien is ecstatic when she states that he could fight dragons. Then she clarifies that she just meant joining a Dungeons & Dragons group.
- Commonality Connection: When Damian is freaking out during a call to Stephanie, he points out that being raised by assassins means that he doesn't really have a lot in common with normal people. However, he does end up connecting with Skylar over their mutual interest in art.
- Nice Girl: Skylar, the girl Damian ends up befriending. She compliments his drawing, connects with him over their both having parents who tried to curb their interests, and invites him to join the art club. She's shown later to still be friends with Damian, and is still as cheerful and kind as when they first met.
- Not Helping Your Case: When Damian demands how he's supposed to connect with ordinary people after being raised by assassins, Stephanie quips that only lasted for a short while, and then he was raised by a billionaire vigilante. Damian sarcastically thanks her for the help.
- Red Herring: The first pair of kids Damian awkwardly tries to connect with by butting into their conversation look like Colton Rivera, someone he had an amicable near-friendship with in Gotham Academy, and Colin Wilkes, his first friend in mainstream comics. Their conversation continues on without him and it is an entirely new character who approaches Damian about his drawings he befriends.
