The Fear Fiction Podcast is dedicated to analyzing and critiquing short online horror fiction. The show is hosted by Abysmii, Dead Palette, and Slimebeast. The podcast premiered on August 30th, 2018 with an introduction to the show and its hosts. Episodes have touched upon Creepypasta, Fan Fiction, SCP entries, and more. The show is based around the concept of "Fear Fic", a term for short horror stories posted online regardless of their style and format.

The Fear Fiction Podcast provides examples of:

  • Black Comedy: Wow, is there a lot of this. Highlights include invention of the "Loose Noose Crew", a group of tragically uncool adults who rap at school children in an effort to stop teen suicide. It has the opposite effect.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Slimebeast's cat, Ella, can often be heard in the background because she thinks he's talking to her.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Abysmii. Always Abysmii.
  • Grammar Nazi: The hosts routinely highlight mistakes by reading the text as-is.
  • Hype Backlash: The hosts are upfront about the fact that the popularity of a story causes them to scrutinize it a bit differently to see how and why it attained its fame.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: The entire group. They mock stories, but never authors, and often provide constructive criticism and explanations of how to possibly fix problems.
  • Mascot: Elias the Intern, who edits every episode.
  • Nightmare Retardant: It's hard to be scared of a story when it's interrupted with poop jokes every two minutes.
  • "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer: The group often has to point out "that's what it says in the story."
  • Running Gag:
    • Abysmii is a lawyer. No, he is isn't. But he really is, though. No.
    • Bad impressions of former U.S. President Barack Obama, who can be found hiding in a variety of strange locations. He very much hopes you "don't ruin this" for him.
    • A variety of improvised characters with rich lore, such as condiment-loving lawyer Mustard Mason and BBQ restaurateur Bubba Shit.
    • Foot fetishes, inflation fetishes, pretty much any fetish that will make listeners cringe.
  • Shout-Out: Every episode ends with plugs, occasionally recommending other creators.
  • So Bad, It's Good: The romantic fan fiction "Jeff and Jane are Two People" featured Jeff the Killer and Jane the Killer visiting Slenderman's Mansion. The lunacy that ensued provided one of the most entertaining reads so far.
  • Take That!: Game Theory's Mat Pat and a variety of other Youtubers and notable personalities receive less than flattering jokes and impressions.
