Stuart and Stephanie is a scripted comedy podcast by Nick Kovari.

Stuart has never had a girlfriend. Stephanie has, but doesn't know how to keep one. After striking up a friendship in the first episode, the rest of the series deals with their attempts to navigate the world of modern dating and help each other to become better people. It might take them a while, though.

Six episodes have been released so far, making up the first season. A second one is planned to premiere before the end of 2021. All episodes can be found here: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy9iMDEwNjM0L3BvZGNhc3QvcnNz

This show provides examples of:

  • Author Avatar: Stuart is a direct one for the show's creator, Nick Kovari, although Stephanie has elements of his personality as well.
  • The Caper: When she and Paul come up with a plan to hook Stuart up with a girl he knew in college, Stephanie remarks that she's excited to be part of a "scheme".
  • Character Title: Named for the two protagonists.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Stuart talking to an escort he's hired as if she were a therapist, and Stephanie complaining about coffee cups in the middle of trying to win back her ex-girlfriend.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Don't expect Stuart or Stephanie to succeed in their romantic endeavours any time soon.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Stephanie tries to get Paul to become friends with Janet to find out if her ex-girlfriend still talks about her. The two do strike up a friendship... and end up gossiping about Stephanie's faults in the relationship, much to her dismay.
  • Local Hangout: An unnamed pub.
  • No More Lies: Stephanie makes this vow at the end of episode 4 but breaks it immediately.
  • The Oldest Profession: At the beginning of the series, Stuart frequently hires an escort called Erin. They just cuddle, though.
  • {{Oh, Crap!}} Paul in episode 3 when he realises that his and Stephanie's plan to get Stuart together with an old crush has gone terribly wrong.
  • Please Dump Me: Stephanie spends one episode trying to get her new girlfriend to break up with her because she's too scared to do it herself.
  • Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: Not quite on the level of IASIP or Peep Show, but Stuart and Stephanie certainly cause most of their own problems.
