Basic Trope: A futuristic technology based on the primitive one.
- Straight: The Dinosauroids, a powerful ancient race, use warships that look like pyramids and have stone weapons that can pierce steel.
- Exaggerated: The Dinosauroids have nothing but sticks and stones and their homes and fleet are nothing but huts and mobile caves, but have won every interplanetary war they were a part of.
- Downplayed: The Dinosauroids have a medieval society and aesthetic despite many commoners having access to phonelike devices and thermonuclear weapons.
- Justified:
- The Dinosauroids evolved Magic and Psionic awareness long before they invented fire and advanced tool use, so there was no need to upgrade their buildings and tech beyond the basics when they can just lift it off the ground with PSI and/or enchant them with magic.
- Dinosauroid technology is made of Unobtanium. So because of having said Unobtanium in its fibers, that piddly little "bamboo lance" their soldiers carry can punch through mile-wide alloy walls and it's not even close to being the Dinosauroid's ultimate weapon.
- Subverted: Alice and Bob enter a Dinosauroid pyramidal ship, only to find out Emperor Evulz built reactors on the interior, which are the ones that actually allow the pyramid to fly.
- Double Subverted: Emperor Evulz and his reactors are blown up, but the pyramid still flies thanks to Dinosauroid bamboo tech.

- The designers of "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" want to add an "anthropologic dinosaur" faction to the game. This faction is also a homage to The Flintstones. In order to justify a Dinosauroid strike team being able to take on a bunch of Space Marines and have a 50/50 chance of winning, the designers decide to write an explanation about Dinosauroid technology being more advanced than it looks.
- The writers of "The Dinosauroid War" thought it would be funny and also visually distinctive from the other aliens in the dueling movies of the season.
