Playing With / Secret Final Campaign

Go To

Basic Trope: After you complete every campaign, you unlock a new one.

  • Straight: In the story mode of Tales of Troperia, you play as Sir Robert, and completing his story unlocks the chance to play as Claidheamh the Left Handed Brute in their own respective campaign. Completing both unlocks the final campaign: "Union of Opposites".
  • Exaggerated: You need to have 100% Completion before the "Union of Opposites" storyline is unlocked, with the True Final Boss being T'Veah Tir'opius.
  • Downplayed:
  • Justified: The "Union of Opposites" involves both Sir Robert and Claidheamh putting their differences aside to defeat T'Veah Tir'opius.
  • Inverted: "Breakage of Similarities" is a campaign that has to be completed to unlock any other campaign.
  • Subverted: There appears to be no secret campaign...
  • Double Subverted: ...But that's because the specific secret in either campaign has been found.
  • Parodied: Robert and Claidheamh joke about a secret third campaign, only for a developer to break the fourth wall to refuse to create it while complaining about developer crunch.
  • Zig-Zagged:... But the secret campaign is added in a post-release patch.
  • Averted: There is nothing playable of the sort that is unlocked after 100% Completion is achieved.
  • Enforced: The previous campaigns end on cliffhangers, rather than acting like multiple self-contained stories.
  • Lampshaded: "Well... In learning each others' stories, we have gathered so much knowledge together. And we can use this knowledge to defeat T'Veah Tir'opius, once and for all!"
  • Invoked: Sir Robert urges Claidheamh to join forces together against T'Veah Tir'opius.
  • Exploited: Vendors try and make use of the new items that come with this campaign in a bid for riches.
  • Defied: Sir Robert and Claidheamh refuse to band together, resulting in no secret final campaign at all.
  • Discussed: "Claidheamh, listen to me. If we join forces together, we could possibly find so much more adventure than if we were to do it on our own."
  • Conversed: "Ah, finally! All that time playing these two other campaigns have paid off with this cool new one!"
  • Played for Laughs: After being invited to a special banquet, Sir Robert ingests an alcoholic beverage containing some... "Questionable" ingredients, and ends up tripping hardcore and all the various characters are alternating between concern and laughter as the player stumbles across the world, defeats T'Veah Tir'opius, before coming home and collapsing at the front door.
