Basic Trope: A projectile deploys more projectiles.

  • Straight: Bob shoots a bullet that shoots another bullet of its own.
  • Exaggerated: Bob shoots a gun that shoots a gun that shoots a gun that shoots a gun that shoots a gun...
  • Downplayed: Bob's bullet splits into simple shrapnel.
  • Justified:
    • Bob's gun is much larger than the target it's supposed to deal with. Trying for anything less than One-Hit Polykill would be a waste.
    • It's a type of armor piercing round. Original bullet pierces the armor, new bullet does damage inside.
  • Inverted: It takes multiple weapons to shoot even one round.
  • Subverted: The bullet looks like it's splitting, but... nope, it just broke.
  • Double Subverted: Then the pieces explode.
  • Parodied:
    • Bob shoots a bullet that shoots a BANG Flag.
    • Bob's ice gun fires a glacier sized bullet that splits into huge ice shards that split .... until eventually it just sprays fires harmless amounts of snow over a very broad area.
  • Zig Zagged: Bob's bullet splits into seven pieces. But that turned out to be from a design flaw. Which actually worked better than when the stayed together. One variant of his gun was made to fire seven shards to replicate the behavior in a more reliable way. It ironically effectively fired the bullet as if it was together.
  • Averted: Bob's bullet travels without launching any more ammunition of its own.
  • Enforced: "We need a way for Bob to take out a bunch of guys at once."
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: A gun that shoots guns is used to equip La RĂ©sistance when they're attacked by The Empire.
  • Defied: Bob rants angrily at the proposal. "No! Just no! The increased scatter kills range, armor penetration, and increases collateral damage that will only hit two at most with little close range accuracy boost! My creations will strike and seek targets precisely! I have the technology to aim it perfectly now."
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "How does this even work anyway? This makes no sense!"
  • Implied: The bullets are shown to be hollow during manufacture.

For goodness sakes, the page makes pages!
