Basic Trope Description: A ridiculously easy-made conquest by an invading military force.
- Straight: The Empire of Editora invades The Republic of Troperia and conquers the whole country in a single night.
- Exaggerated: The Empire of Editora in fact just needs a second to conquer the whole Republic of Troperia.
- Downplayed: Some border provinces of Troperia are conquered in a span of some hours, but then the progress stalls when the Troperians really start fighting back.
- Justified:
- The Empire are Sufficiently Advanced Aliens.
- The Empire happens to have magical means for camouflage.
- Inverted: La RĂ©sistance needs only a single night to win the whole original area of Troperia back from its occupiers.
- Subverted: Bob, who fled from the occupied territory, explains that it was overrun and conquered in a single night. His friend Alan corrects him and says that the fighting lasted two weeks.
- Double Subverted: But the two weeks were just The Empire fighting The Remnant of Troperia along the borders of the now-occupied territory.
- Enforced: Rule of Drama
- Zigzagged: Some conquests are really fast, others not.
- Averted: The Editoran invasion is lengthy and sees immediate resistance.
- Parodied: Alice goes to bed in Troperia and wakes up in Editora, with foreign flags all over her hometown and soldiers gawking at her like at an animal in the zoo.
- Lampshaded: "Conquest in a single night? That works?"
- Discussed: "They took Troperia in a single night!" "In a single week, you mean." "No, in a single night..."
- Conversed: "That must be Easy Logistics."
