Basic Trope: A character is cowardly, but still sympathetic.

  • Straight: Milo is easily frightened, but is still well-loved by his teammates.
  • Exaggerated: Milo is a Nervous Wreck who runs and hides from any situation, and he's the most sympathetic character in the series.
  • Downplayed:
  • Justified:
    • Milo is easily frightened because he has a Dark and Troubled Past, and others sympathize with him for that reason.
    • Milo is a Cowardly Lion who's still willing to get through a situation that scares him.
    • The reason why Milo's teammates like him so much is because he keeps the rest of them safe from situations that could be dangerous.
    • Milo may be easily frightened, but at least he doesn't leave his friends behind; If anything, he often tries to urge everyone to follow him because he has some kind of Spider-Sense. It's for this reason that people like relying on him — He's easily scared, but he manages to use his own fear to benefit everyone instead of ditching them at the first sign of danger.
    • Milo is put under a curse that forces him to be uncontrollably fearful. Doesn't prevent him from being a genuine Nice Guy.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted:
    • Milo's cowardice is a front. He pretends to be fearful to lull his enemies into a false sense of security.
    • Milo's really a Dirty Coward, but he's charismatic enough to seem likeable up until his true nature is revealed.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Milo exaggerates his fear for effect, but when the time comes for him to act, the pressure gets to him, his feet turn cold, and he runs.
    • Milo was ready to throw everyone under the bus to save his skin, but his conscience makes him go back to rescue them.
  • Parodied: Milo is widely considered a hero who everyone loves and respects, but the truth he's an Accidental Hero who always panics at the drop of a hat and unintentionally saves the day.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Milo isn't particularly cowardly or likable.
  • Enforced: "Alright, so we've got a pretty likeable character, but we can't make them totally flawless." "Hmmm, try making him a coward?"
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: Milo attempts to be likeable and useful where he can to make up for his complete lack of courage.
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
