Basic Trope: Underwear (in the form of briefs or a drape around the waist) made of fur or rough hides.
- Straight: Bob the Smasher wears a bearskin around his waist as his sole bit of Pelts of the Barbarian clothing (aside from perhaps a pair of thick leather boots).
- Exaggerated:
- His hometown has a loin cloth emporium.
- Alice also wears a loincloth and nothing over her breasts.
- Downplayed: He just wears it in tropical areas. His outfits in colder places is more sensible.
- Justified: The cloth gives a +3 agility bonus as long as he wears nothing other than the matching Boots of Leaping.
- Inverted: Bob wears barbarian style furs and leather... except around the groin area (hey, it was a dare).
- Gender Inverted: Alice decides instead of a Fur Bikini to wear a regular bra and a loin cloth.
- Subverted: Bob leaves his house wearing nothing but the cloth, and then realizes that he forgot the rest of his clothes.
- Double Subverted: He then comes out also wearing his boots.
- Parodied:
- Even as the tribe becomes more civilized, it just means fancier and nicer loin cloths.
- This Cosplay loin cloth comes with a zipper. Too bad Bob forgot to wear regular underwear beneath it when he tries zipping it up.
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted: Bob wears a kilt.
- Enforced: The costume budget was so small, getting a bunch of these was the best deal they could find, instead of proper outfits.
- Lampshaded: ???
- Invoked: Alice hides the rest of Bob's clothes as a prank.
- Exploited: Bob found an amulet that creates am invisible shield around him. Just wearing the loin cloth gives him the element of surprise to enemies that think he's unarmored.
- Defied: ???
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
Back to Loincloth. And put some pants on.
