- Alice is descended from a long line of monster slayers, inheriting the requisite magical powers at the age of 16, along with the associated responsibilities and the fact that the monsters are now out to get her.
- Inverted: Bad things have happened on every single one of Alice's previous birthdays—but her sixteenth is perfectly calm.
- Subverted: Turns out the Kaiju was just a prank by her friends.
- Double Subverted: Well, it was until it somehow gained its own life.
- Parodied: Alice is a Cosplay Otaku Girl, and her Birthday Episode consists largely of her playing out increasingly wacky disaster scenarios in her head.
- Zig Zagged: Even though Alice's sixteenth birthday sucked, there was an equal amount of good to it.

- Reconstructed: The "quarantine" turns into be a year-round free amusement park for the kids and makes Kaiju attacks manageable.
