Basic Trope: A Character chooses to help someone else's life over theirs, in order to prove that they really love them.

    • Bob is on the losing end of the Love Triangle, and by this point, it is clear that after the party's journey is over, Alice will hook up with Charlie. While he really wants to win the love triangle, he decides that Alice's choices matter more than his, so when she declares her love for Charlie, Bob does nothing but fully endorse the newlyweds, even though he himself is heartbroken.
  • Family
    • Danny has won 1 million on the lottery, but rather than spend it on personal gains, he spends it on his poor sister Emily's healthcare, even though they have been estranged for many years.
  • Friendship
    • Fred's best friend Greg is on trial for something he didn't do. Even though he would miss out on a workplace vacation, he rushes to court providing critical evidence, after the evidence provided the court declares Greg innocent.
  • Unconditional
    • Hiro sacrificed himself for the greater good of the Earth, for he knows that all lives are precious.

    • Bob fully accepts that Alice ends up with Charlie but becomes heavily depressed as a result.

    • Danny himself is also poor, but he is truly selfless, wanting to help others instead of himself.

    • As Hiro took on all the swords of hate, he has become an emotionless husk, but as long as all the people are happy, it will be worth it.
