Spoilers are unmarked for this section, proceed with caution!

  • Mielle Roscent appears to be an All-Loving Heroine, with a pure, gentle appearance. Everyone in aristocratic society adores her. Only a few people, like Aria and her mother, know how much of a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing she really is. Conniving, cruel, and classist, she does everything she can to take down her stepmother and sister, all because they are from "impure" origins.
    • The first timeline has Mielle successfully manipulate Aria into becoming a Lady in Red type, and then frame her for her mother's death. The only reason Mielle doesn't fully succeed is because Aria's time powers activate before her execution.
    • The second timeline shows just how despicable Mielle can be towards the people she supposedly loves.
      • First, she loses her best ally, her nanny Emma, after a failed attempt to poison Aria with tea. Rather than stand up for Emma when she is called out as the culprit behind the poisoning, Mielle willingly threw her own nanny, a woman she looked up to as a mother figure, under the bus, just to save her own skin.
      • After losing Emma, she tries to frame Aria for murder by pushing her father off the stairs. Count Roscent is so shocked by Mielle's actions that he turns on her when he wakes up from his coma.
      • When Mielle is given Cruel Mercy by Aria after the coup, she decides to get rid of her bail guaranteer by poisoning her with tea. Her brother Cain, however, takes the poisoned teacup and dies a quick, nasty death, believing his sister was trying to murder him too.
      • And throughout all of this, Mielle never admits her mistakes. She blames others for her misfortunes, acting as if she's the victim instead. She never understands how her actions have hurt others, and only comes to a semi-realization when she faces the guillotine for the final time.
  • Asher's fate in the first timeline becomes unsettling the more proactive he gets in the second timeline. Rendered powerless by the Aristocratic party, he was forced to marry Isis, who is this story's version of an Alpha Bitch, and become her puppet ruler. He was so unknown that Aria didn't know what he looked like. Asher believes this to be the real tragedy of the first timeline, as he can't think of a life without Aria. Seeing Oscar in a similar situation as him makes Asher confident that he would never become what he was in the first timeline, but he's still haunted by the thought nonetheless.
  • Berry’s death is surprisingly ruthless. She is given a carriage by Aria to escape the empire after confessing to Emma's involvement in the poisoning incident. The coachman leaves to go to the bathroom in the woods with Berry still inside the carriage. But after he's been gone for a while, Berry goes to check on him. She finds the coachman missing, as well as her luggage. As she realizes what is happening, a pack of vicious wolves rushes towards her as she pleads for mercy...
  • Aria's death in the first timeline is quite graphic. She was covered in blood, her tongue was cut out, and her stepbrother raised his sword to finish her off. All the while, Mielle laughed hysterically at Aria's suffering as she gloated about how she poisoned Carin and framed Aria for it.
    • The second timeline sees a similar end for both Iris and Mielle. Both girls are beheaded, and Iris gets the additional punishment of having her head hang over the capital gates for a month. Mielle, while having the less pleasant end, does have the most pathetic one: she deludes herself into imagining a world where Aria and Mielle got along as siblings, wearing a smile as she is beheaded in front of a jeering, angry mob.
      • Whenever Mielle faces something traumatic, Aria watches to see if Mielle will break down or throw a tantrum like Aria did during the first timeline. But Mielle, ever the Proper Lady, only ever faints or mutters something mildly threatening under her breath. Aria can't help but be a little unnerved by Mielle's constant eerie calmness and feigned ignorance of her own faults in the face of adversary.
  • Even after her revenge is finally completed, Aria can't get rid of Mielle's ghost, as she haunts her sister's thoughts for a while after her execution.
