Nightmare Fuel / Kingdom Rush

Kingdom Rush is a colourful universe of epic tales. Surely there is nothing scary here, right? All spoilers are unmarked!

  • Original:
    • The basic premise of a peaceful kingdom being invaded, especially after its first thought to be a disorganized robbery from a couple of goblins.
    • Spider enemies in general, especially for people with arachnophobia, being vicious giant spiders.
    • Dark Knights, even if for the unexpectancy of their first appearance after fighting just goblins and thieves.
    • The Juggernaut, an unstoppable mindless machine of destruction. As you get acquainted to your dwarves artillery, you might think they are the only geniuses able to have such tech in medieval setting. And then marches out this thing, essentially a magical robot, with Rocket Punch, actual missiles and an endless supply of smaller constructs. This is just the first boss, but his power level is sure to leave an impression.
    • The moment that can come off as a jump scare when you pop the sheep's and one of them straight up explodes!
    • J.T., despite being not really memorable in some eyes compared to other two main game bosses, still can startle with the sheer size he has, towering over buildings about twice as much their size. And he doesn't even care about soldiers fighting him, effortlessly lifting them up and eating them alive. Then his death, being a dose of Black Comedy, has him being hit with his own ice powers and frozen over, only to be smashed by the player, leaving only legs and visible spine.
    • Valardul, a Lethal Lava Land is lifeless waste where only a few plants survive, the dead can rise and lava elementals roam freely, with player's forces feeling uneasy the whole way. Fitting for a Big Bad headquarters.
    • For all his hamminess and Shout Outs, Vez'nan is still a dangerous and powerful villain, using manipulation and proxies for his conquest. He also has a huge skull collection under his balcony, each corresponding to one of your towers. Hero Killer, much?
      • He also has made a Deal with the Devil, allowing him to be a proactive boss that summons demons from pentagrams and stuns towers with a single cast of the staff. When he steps out to fight, he has an attack so powerful he can deliver a One-Hit Kill, in flash version even having a ranged one in addition, where he sucks out the souls of your soldiers. And then he pulls an extra ace by having an extra phase, where he goes One-Winged Angel and transforms into a towering powerful demon with flame breath. And on death, he screams out to the sky as the souls burst out from him and obliterate him in a ball of light. Deserved, but still a horrible way to go.
