As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

Despite the story's Lighter and Softer tone, there are still many moments throughout the parts that can make one shudder.

     Phantom Blood
  • We don't get to see poor Danny's death at Dio's hands, but knowing how it happened in canon, and how Jonathan describes it, it's probably better that it wasn't put into narration.
  • The fact that the first stone mask vampire we see (a random street thug Dio uses for an experiment) is able to put Enya on the defensive shows just how dangerous these monsters can be.
  • Dio's first use of his new powers after donning the stone mask is still as terrifying as canon. By the end of it, the Inspector (who was Spared by the Adaptation due to Twilight's Stand) wonders if the nightmares will ever cease.
  • Despite successfully taking out both Tarkus and Bruford in one shot, Speedwagon lays it out that Dio's plan to decimate Windknights Lot could take less than a week with zombies making more zombies. Indeed, by the end of it, the only survivors are Poco, his father, and his sister.

     Battle Tendency
  • Weak as he is compared to fully-grown Gigans, Santana's abilities as he slaughters the Nazi outpost paint a terrifying picture of what they're capable of.
  • While Esidisi is killed before he can claim anymore victims after Loggins, and Wamuu is a noble warrior who will only kill sparingly, Kars is a clear indicator of just how deadly a fully-grown Gigan can be. He kills five Nazi soldiers in one go without them even having time to scream, and while his abilities are no match for Applejack's Stand, Stroheim gets cut in two (good thing he's a cyborg by this point).
  • It gets even worse when Kars is able to unleash the stone mask empowered by the Red Stone of Aja. Just when it looks like the heroes are able to destroy him using the molten magma of a volcano, he finds a way to survive even that hellish environment, declaring that he has truly conquered Mother Nature. If not for happenstance shooting him into outer space, the heroes might never have been rid of him.

     Steel Ball Run
  • DeBorne's Stand causes all kinds of problems for Team Kujo when they have no idea what it can do, causing them to dodge police roadblocks and even get caught up in a previously performed manmade avalanche. As is always the case, a Stand that you don't know anything about can be terrifying.
  • While most of the major fights are curb-stomps in Team Kujo's favor, Sunset's battle against Jack Pico shows he's a No-Nonsense Nemesis and nearly cripples Sunset with his Stand. If not for her Healing Factor, the team might have had to leave her behind.

     Stardust Crusaders
  • The atmosphere around the town created by Enya's illusions paint a creepy picture, all to unnerve the Joestar team and make it easier to target them.
  • When Telence unveils his collection of trapped souls, all of them in special dolls he made, it freaks the group out. Especially when one of them starts talking.

     A Gentleman, A Thief, A King, and A Hero
  • Just about anything to do with Caster and the creatures he can create from living flesh. Not to mention Ryuunosuke is just as twisted, using corpses of children to create "artwork".
  • Just seeing how the Matou magecraft, the crest worms, works is horrifying enough. But when Lupin and Kirei view the actual Matou estate to see how Sakura is faring, it can leave a chill down your spine.
  • The Court of Owls makes a horrifying first impression, giving the idea that they're everywhere and that their leader doesn't like it when things don't go his way. This all comes to a head when Jonathan and Zenigata get the chance to investigate one of their hideouts, finding out a ton of sickening details and even finding out that all of their female assassins have been surgically altered to resemble Fujiko.
  • Everyone's horrid reaction to the pure corruption Angra Mainyu did to the Grail. And keep in mind, in this story Iris isn't the Grail's container... but she almost was! She's horrified at the implications of what her father almost put her through.
  • It can be nightmare-inducing knowing that Angra Mainyu tried to tempt the four main heroes. All Might's successor Izuku? Lupin's Love Interest Fujiko? Evan's governess Aranella? Jonathan's wife Erina!? Just thinking that all of them in the Grail are just images projected by Angra Mainyu is horrifying to think about.

     Diamond is Unbreakable
  • Pinkie Pie starts the story getting randomly speared through the chest with an arrow! If that hadn't been a Stand arrow (or if Pinkie hadn't had Stand potential), she'd be dead!
  • Angelo's crimes in general can be nightmare-inducing, but seeing him rip off a dog's muzzle, with his bare teeth no less, then spit the blood into its owner's mouth to kill him via Aqua Necklace will have you running for the nearest toilet to puke in. And all that because the guy was leaving his cigarette butts and dog shit all over the neighborhood.
  • We get a slightly better idea about Reimi's death injuries following her murder, with her muscles apparently looking like hamburger meat. And that's just the muscles, the narration doesn't get into what state the lungs and heart are in.

     Golden Wind
  • Black Sabbath has no concept of whether or not someone is already a Stand user before being tested by the Stand arrow, which leads one to wonder if Polpo wasted any Stand users by accident.
  • You wouldn't expect something horrifying from one of the heroes, but keep in mind they are mafioso. Rarity is not afraid to use her crystals to torture. At one point she expands her crystals into Prosciutto's brain, leaving a horrid mess for Melone to find.
  • Baby Face Junior's initial attack on Rarity came dangerously close to killing her. If Giorno hadn't shown up when he did, the story could have gone in a much different direction.
  • Giorno's thoughts on Notorious B.I.G perfectly encapsulate how terrifying it truly is.
Giorno: "This Stand is not like any other Stand we've heard of. It breaks the most fundamental rule of them all... that a Stand cannot live without its user."
  • Cioccolata, full stop. An unfettered sociopath who enjoys causing pain and despair and is not afraid to use his Stand, Green Day, to its full, unhindered effect, he proves to be just as vile as his canon counterpart with his indiscriminate attacks against anyone standing in his way, even if they aren't his assigned targets.
  • While not as strong as Diavolo or as unfettered as Cioccolata, the narcotics team nonetheless have some brutal Stands that can do serious damage. Just seeing what they did to Zucchero and Sale, two Passione members who actually made problems for the team, tells you how nightmarish their powers are.

     Stone Ocean
  • While it's logical to assume the very beginning of Whitesnake's debut chapter (up to when Rainbow and Gwess entered the visitor center) and the very end (from when Jolyne realized they were under the influence of Whitesnake's hallucinogenic goo) happened in reality, here's a question... How much of what went on in between was real and how much was an illusion? Good luck sleeping tonight.
  • Just seeing the suffering Ermes has to go through dealing with McQueen. Can you just imagine seeing someone trying to kill themselves, and then finding those same injuries affecting you as well? Bone-chilling.
  • The entire fight against Sports Maxx is like something straight out of a horror movie, especially since all the zombies his Stand creates are completely invisible.

     Spirit Tracks
  • Most of the Stands in this story are awesome, even the villains. But Clementine's comes off as the most sadistic and horrifying, since it damages an opponent without causing pain!
  • The narration goes into horrific detail about the state of Tuare's body from the sexual abuse she suffered working at the Eight Fingers brothel, sparing very little details. Pestonya described it as a doctor's nightmare, and she is not kidding.
  • Entoma makes the creepiest first impression. Granted she's nice and polite, but considering what she really is and what she goes through to look at least passable for human in public...
  • The final blow against Cragma sends the dwarven miner right into magma below, causing everyone to immediately turn away in shock and horror. It's a good thing George's last attack left Cragma injured and likely unconscious, or else the final death scream would be haunting.

     Jojolion
  • Miss Fortune's account of how she survived her gang's execution is terrifying. Imagine waking up at the bottom of a large body of water, all your friends around you in pieces and dead. And then you realize you're in pieces, but somehow still alive. Enjoy the tossing and turning in bed tonight.
  • The full scope of Honami's plan is genuinely horrific, using two Stand users that weaponize zombies and slashers for maximum chaos while retrieving a set of artifacts capable of granting incredible power. The worse part is the body count it leaves behind, decimating the population of a single city with only a few dozen survivors outside the hero teams.

     Phantom Thief Joker
  • How does the tale of the eponymous Phantom Thief Joker begin? Why, by having him be buried under a ton of rubble of course! Thankfully he managed to survive thanks to his Stand, but imagine if he WASN'T a Stand user.
