- The torture scenes are extremely hard to watch. It doubles as Fridge Horror when you realize what happened in real life was even worse.
- The mere fact that Gertrude got children to enjoy torturing an innocent can seriously drain one's faith in humanity.
- The first time you know something's wrong is when Gertrude hits Sylvia with a belt. The second time? Making Sylvia shove a Coke bottle in her privates. In front of her kids.
- The film is actually based on a true story. Let that sink in. And in real life, it was worse.
