The Daily Life of the Immortal King (Chinese: 仙王的日常生活, pinyin: Xiān Wáng de Rìcháng Shēnghuó) is a Chinese xianxia webnovel that started being published in 2017. It has a manhua adaptation that started in 2020 and an animated adaptation that premiered the same year and which currently has 4 seasons.

The story revolves around Wang Ling, a prodigy who attends cultivation school and hides his great power in an attempt to have a fairly normal high school life.

This show provides examples of:

  • Affectionate Parody: A bit of a comical take on the Spirit Cultivation Genre.
  • Animesque: A Chinese animated series with an anime-inspired artstyle.
  • Child Prodigy: It's shown Wang Ling was an amazing cultivator since he was a baby.
  • Monkey King Lite: A running theme with Sun Rong's family. Not only is their name literally Sun (孙), but her father lives in a cave, wears a headband and his voice actor is clearly channeling Liu Xiao Ling Tong's legendary 1986 portrayal of Wukong. What's more, her grandfather resembles a monkey and one of the family treasures is literally the Ruyi Jingu Bang.
  • No Social Skills: Wang Ling. After Sun Rong saves him from some bullies, his first instinct is to give her a dollar and walk away. To an extent, this behaviour is an act so as not to stand out much.
  • Power Limiter: A talisman placed on Wang Ling's nape by his parents, which keeps his power in check.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Wang Ling's red eyes, which mark him as somebody special.
  • Wizarding School: The setting is a modern day cultivation academy.
