Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail

  • In the story, Parker is a huge fan of My Little Ponyta. Episode 55 Pokémon Journeys has his sister — and her Eevee — interacting with a Galarian Rapidash and Ponyta that she quickly came to bond with.
  • Chloe dislikes curry (not the food or the taste itself, though) because it's a reminder of how she and Goh are no longer friends. In Journeys episode 50, she's shown cooking and eating curry alongside Ash and Goh in the Galar region quite merrily as part of her ascension into more of an active role with Ash and Goh as one of the lead characters in the series' middle and late stages.
  • The premise of Vermillion City's Arc 2 revolves around a brown-haired person in grieving and angry at how everything was taken away from them obtain Reality Warper powers to do what they want and create an ideal little home for the two while those who refuse have to play certain roles and also using mind control powers? Wait, are we talking about Parker Cerise or Wanda Maximoff? For even more hilarity, both of them made a construct of the person they wanted most and the female of the pairs are associated with witches and the color red. Finally, the last construct with a connection to them is a pure white being with clear blue eyes (Zeno and White Vision).
  • The themes of the story deal with bad communication, a fallout between two childhood friends involving a dream, Amelia questioning the role of the Train, a callous One-One about the fate of passengers, deconstructing catharsis, flawed characters....Are you sure Infinity Train Book 4 wasn't stealing ideas from this fanfic?
    • Other things include a denizen named Morpho, a Silent Hill-esque monster made from the remains of passengers, the idea that denizens were once passengers (like the Pig Baby)...
  • After Ash brings his old mons back during the Unown arc and they stick around afterwards for battle, the anime itself would feature a return for them heavily in the 2021 previews. Infernape notably gets a major focus, though not involving a World Coronation Battle. Moreover, Ash's mons reveal that Charizard isn't there as he's picking up a gift for Ash's birthday. In Journeys Episode 68, when all these mons are featured, Charizard's there to greet him.
    • Charizard would later return in Wisteria with Greninja in tow. The same character would also get a return focused episode in Journeys.
  • Trip questions what would happen if Ash's Dragonite fought Iris's Dragonite...and lo and behold, Journeys Episode 65 has them fighting. The answer being Iris's would get the better of the fight, though ultimately Ash's would be the one to win the match overall.
    • Even better is that Trip shows Ash a picture of Iris in her championship dress; guess what she's wearing when she and Ash fight?
  • Goh was shown to be very jealous of one of Ash's rivals, Trip, coming in and taking Ash away (as the two had officially become boyfriends at the time) while actively antagonizing Goh. Then came Episode 68 of Journeys in which Gary (another of Ash's rivals) arrives and being quite friendly with Ash, while having fun screwing with Goh as he once screwed with Ash.
  • Journeys episode 72: Chloe's kindness shines through to a character that's not really a jerk and then said character sees Chloe as some sort of angel. Are we talking about Lexi or Team Rocket's Meowth? Bonus points, Chloe in Meowth's Imagine Spot wore a white tunic like Chloe wore a beach dress when she met Lexi.
  • Ash in canon brings his Z-Ring back into use for the Hyper-class/Ultra-class matches and beyond just as Ash in fic takes it back out for the Super/Great-class battles and beyond.
  • Journeys would have its own young child character use the Unown in the absence of a loved figure to warp reality around them in response to a loss of a loved one, though unlike in Blossoming Trail, the power was not used specifically to hurt anyone.
  • Episode 87 of Journeys would end up bringing many comparisons to the set up of B.T. to mind: A lonely girl with repressed issues stemming from bullying, parents who don't see where the problem is coming from and their solutions don't solve it and in fact risk making it worse, all of the aforementioned problems being amplified by lack of clear communications. Fortunately, Regina's issues were resolved quicker than Chloe's, leading to one of Journey's most celebrated episodes.
  • Episode 92 explored a minor point from the Ash versus Raihan battle, that one of Ash's Pokemon having a non-Gigantamax form when Dynamaxed in much greater detail than in Wisteria where Ash just found it odd without further comment. The difference being the 'mon involved (in Wisteria it was Snorlax and in canon it was Gengar). This would also factor into Ash's canon battle with Raihan, just as it did in the battle in fanfic.
  • Episode 106 would offer a reveal that turns the entire premise of the fanfic on its head: apparently after Chloe got Eevee in canon, she became so much more involved in Pokemon and going on adventures with Ash and Goh that Professor Cerise was starting to get a bit lonely. While it's based more on paternal empty nest syndrome than a feeling of being mistreated, it's still a hilarious flip on how Chloe in the story felt like everyone was ignoring her for Pokemon and leaving her behind.
  • The story features a pair of siblings, an older sister and a younger brother. The older sister acts aloof and is a bit overbearing on her brother, and is shown to be prejudiced against somebody while not realizing how much damage she's doing, and her story Arc eventually leads her to become more accepting of those she misjudged. As for the brother, his sister's influence has caused him to develop a front that hides a pretty vindictive and selfish personality. He also ends up suffering Sanity Slippage as a result of his sister hanging out with someone else and keeping him in the dark about stuff, culminating in him taking control of a powerful Pokémon in part to prove himself superior to a character he thinks is going to take his sister away from him. Are we talking about Chloe and Parker, or Carmine and Kieran?
