Heartwarming / Friday Night Funkin' WITH LYRICS

Go To

  • Despite his bad past with The Girlfriend's parents and being irritated by The Boyfriend badgering him about his past, Whitty doesn't want to harm the couple because he feels it would upset the two people he used to call friends.
Whitty: ...and while I'm not a fan of her old man, I don't want to take you from her or leave her folks without their child!
  • If the ending gag in Tankmen WITH LYRICS is anything go by; Senpai is still alive, in a humorous aside gag as he wonders why it's raining guns in his world.
  • Tankmen WITH LYRICS' end-credits scene has Tankman advertising Newgrounds and telling people to check out Friday Night Funkin' there as well (but not before running RecD over with his tank), and to "Tell them the Tankmen sent you". Newgrounds got a lot more members since RecD released his WITH LYRICS on Week 7! And yes, the new influx of users did indeed say the Tankmen sent them!
  • The Boyfriend says it all in "Smoke 'Em Out Struggle With Lyrics"; Garcello defied Daddy Dearest for a teenager he just met, even if it cost him his life. It's no wonder people think Garcello is one of the absolute best characters in Friday Night Funkin's extended fanon.
  • The fact that Garcello is perfectly content to Go Out with a Smile and encourages The Boyfriend to have one last happy serenade with him as his spirit passes on.
Garcello: Hey. I've got time for one last send-off, little man.
    The Boyfriend: To...lift your spirits?
    Garcello: To lift yours.
  • RecD closes off "Smoke 'Em Out Struggle With Lyrics" with a slower, softer version of his subscriber song. It doesn't sound sad or somber, but moreso reassuring, as if to make the viewer feel like everything is going to be okay, not unlike Garcello's reasoning to keep singing even after he died.
  • Hex is a constant source of these. As in canon, he remains friendly and polite all throughout, he offers Boyfriend encouragement and he tells stories of him interacting with and befriending characters like Whitty and Pico. And Boyfriend is just as warm and friendly to him, even offering to help make his dreams come true with Daddy Dearest's theater and being genuinely angry at the hackers as he tries to save him.
  • This exchange from Hex's week shows just how much Boyfriend cares about Hex:
Hackers: We'll get what we need, just hit a bump!
The Boyfriend: Cut it out, that hurts him, he's alive!
  • The Boyfriend confronting Daddy Dearest after he discourages the Girlfriend from dating whoever she wants.
The Boyfriend: Hey, that's no way to treat a grown woman!
    Daddy Dearest: Huh?!
The Boyfriend: I've only known The Girlfriend for fifteen minutes, but I can tell you she's smarter, braver and more cunning than you're givin' her credit for! She's not just a walking, talking encyclopedia of your achievements. She's a whole person! And she has the right to date whoever she wants!
  • In Mid-Fight Masses WITH LYRICS, Ruv claims he's only around to help Sarvente with her mission, but later talks with The Boyfriend reveal that it could be something bigger.
  • A strange, sweet-in-his-own-weird-way example: Ruv at first threatened The Boyfriend for desecrating holy ground. After they've had their talk, he forgives him, only to threaten him again for making Sarvente cry.
  • Date Week WITH LYRICS starts with Whitty and the Dearests reconciling. While they still need him to get out of Philly immediately, they do so explicitly under the condition that they'll help him get a life set up free from prying eyes and potential threats. It's almost like watching a pair of clumsy parents trying to help their wayward son stand on his own two feet after hearing he's been struggling since he left. From there, the week becomes a further elaboration on Carol and Whitty's relationship, going on a date before he moves away since Carol needs to stay in the city for her job.
    • Think of it a little deeper; Daddy Dearest points out that they were always fine with Whitty exploding when they had nothing, but now they not only have a house, but a daughter and her boyfriend as well.
    • At the end of "Heartbass", it's shown that Carol and Whitty weren't as defenseless as they felt; Pico had been hired by the Dearests to make sure Whitty was alright until his new home was built, and Sunday snuck along with him so they could make sure Carol's date went smoothly. Combining the two's tactical skills, they both manage to hog-tie Updike and keep him from ruining the lovebirds' moment together on a hillside overlooking the fair.
  • In Sonic.EXE meets Daddy Dearest, while starting out on bitter terms, the two manage to find some companionship in each other after discussing pasta. Following Daddy Dearest's suggestion to try Chicken Alfredo when Sonic.EXE voices his distaste for pasta, they both go to Olive Garden, where Sonic.EXE actually enjoys that kind of pasta.
  • A bit of a small one compared to the others, but in Sonic.EXE meets Pico, after suffering the bullet strike and fainting, Sonic.EXE finds himself in a hospital, meaning somebody must've taken him there after what happened. Even sweeter is that it's Daddy Dearest who greets him upon awakening, with a "Get Well Soon" balloon and a plate of spaghetti (most likely from Olive Garden from before), and the demonic hedgehog is genuinely taken aback by a fellow demon's support.
Daddy Dearest: Hey, sport. How ya doin'?
Sonic.EXE: You... actually care about me?
Daddy Dearest: Of course I do! When you're here, you're family.
    • This is continued in "How Sonic.EXE Stole Christmas!", where it's revealed that the entire tale is a story Daddy Dearest is telling Sonic.EXE to help him get to bed and inspire him to find new ways to bring suffering to all. And then he drops a bombshell as the hedgehog drifts off to sleep.
      Daddy Dearest: Merry Christmas... son.
  • In the intro for "Defeat & Finale", Boyfriend lists how Among Us was a lot more fun early on, listing off the positives of other players; Red being comedic, Green being witty, Yellow as an innocent crewmate, Pink as the nicest impostor of all, and Maroon... Yeah, he admits Maroon IS a jerk.
  • For the "Finale" portion of the video, Boyfriend, after hearing Black's new plan, decides that he's fighting for all crewmates and impostors alike to spare them the would-be wrath of the Big Bad himself. For as much trouble as the impostors likely gave him, it's clear that Boyfriend still values them as people and doesn't want them permanently silenced, so much so that before Black stops him, he considers going back to the ship while Black is boasting and warn the others before it's too late.
  • Just about all of Twinsomnia With Lyrics. Somehow this version turned out even more adorable and heartwarming than the original.
