- "Lower Your Expectations" ends with a genuine message about how people deserve love that can fill them and complete them, and how love can be the one thing that counteracts the fact that Humans Are Flawed. It's especially sweet after hearing Bo satirically take down the idealized "perfect man/woman" that people yearn for in the real world.
- "Kill Yourself," outside of its very Dark Comedy, has a genuine message that life's worst problems don't have simple answers and that you shouldn't look for them in songs from pop stars, but you also shouldn't kill yourself. He even makes it clear that he doesn't want to be misconstrued as just being insensitive and hurtful; depression is a real epidemic and is often overlooked, and he advises people who are suffering from it to seek help from actual professionals.
