Headscratchers / Schoolhouse Rock!

• Who's the Asian kid in this picture? The first kid is the girl from "A Noun is a Person, Place or Thing." The second kid is the mysterious boy of Asian descent. The third kid is Schoolhouse Rocky in his "normal" form. The fourth kid is the girl from "Body Machine." Given that all of the kids are from the original run of videos in the late 70s, shouldn't the Asian boy be from a video too?
  • Considering the other kids appear in Grammar, Mathematics, and Science Rock songs; he probably appears briefly in America Rock.
  • Trust me; he never appears in a single SHR short. Besides, Schoolhouse Rocky represents the entire series, not Mathematics Rock.
  • Wasn't he one of the kids in the Melting Pot short?
  • It seems that in the original intro, these were just a bunch of generic multiethnic kids (save for Rocky). Presumably because there was no one who looked like the Asian kid in any of the shorts, they just kept him in.
• In "Noun: Person, Place or Thing", why is Chubby Checker white?
  • Maybe the colorist didn't know who Chubby Checker was, or wasn't informed it was Chubby Checker (he wasn't exactly well-drawn).
    • Word of God is that it was a simple colouring error on the part of the animation team, which, yes, was probably helped along by the complete generic-ness of the drawing — nothing about his appearance indicates that he's African-American.
• Why is there a brief sequence in "Ready Or Not, Here I Come" in which a Black kid and a White kid bump into each other and the Black kid turns White and the White kid turns Black? It can't be an animation mistake because it gets repeated.
  • Well, it's likely only repeated because the exact same footage is used for the chorus. This is Limited Animation, after all.
  • They switched clothes?
    • It's more like they just swapped hair somehow. Literally nothing else on them got switched around.
  • A somewhat politically incorrect joke on the part of the animators would be my guess - they collided into each other so fast they switched races.
