Apollus is a font of these:
- On his first day motorbiking through America, he goes hunting, kills a deer with a spear, gets booked for hunting out of season (the officer is as incredulous as we are), and briefly considers killing the officer before submitting to arrest and getting put in prison for thirty days.
- While in prison he sincerely regrets not killing the officer, thinking this would've solved all his problems.
- He becomes a security guard for Mexican farms, and insists on keeping his Roman sword to fight with. He also mentions that he occasionally slips his cover, once reprimanding a worker by saying, "as your centurion you are obligated to obey!" The thought that unbeknownst to himself, he's getting him written off as a Crazy Survivalist, Tinfoil Hat-type is hilarious.
- Being a terrible liar when trying to suss out Finlay.
- Apollus: Well, I'll just have to go tell Gadianton the sword's gone, then.Finlay: Isn't he dead?
- Saying goodbye to Megan:
- “Is there anything you’d like to say?”“Farewell, Megan.”“I need your prayers.”
- Ryan throws a kick at Apollus's head, showing off his kick-boxing. He throws a second kick and Apollus kicks his other leg out from under him.
- Megan mentions entertaining village kids with her Lamanite tellings of Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz.
