Funny / Quigley Down Under

Go To

  • Quigley listens to the British Major insult America for a moment, stating that Americans were barbarians who ought to be run out of their country. Quigley's reply is golden.
  • As soon as Quigley finds out what Marston's reason for hiring him is, he promptly tosses Marston out the front window of Marston's own mansion. It's an Awesome moment, but also a Funny one thanks to the casual way it all happens.
  • After Quigley and Cora are abandoned in the desert by Quigley's new employer, Cora gets a genuine laugh with her Deadpan Snarker observation: "Don't worry, on a new job it's quite common for things not to go well at first."
  • After rescuing Quigley and Cora, the Aborigines offer them something to eat: witchetty grubs. Live witchetty grubs. Cora asks him if he wants to shoot his before he eats it.
  • O'Flynn shows off his quickdraw skills to Marston and the other hands, prompting Marston to observe that he's improved. Full of himself, O'Flynn excitedly asks if he can ever be as good as Marston. Marston deflates him to the amusement of the rest of the mooks.
"You mean if practiced a lot? No."
Quigley: [off-camera] Aw, shit.
  • This exchange, as Cora and Quigley ride a horse through the Outback:
Crazy Cora: You know, if we're lost, you can tell me.
Matthew Quigley: We're lost.
Crazy Cora: I can take bad news. Just tell me straight.
Matthew Quigley: I don't know where the hell we are.
Crazy Cora: No sense takin' time to make it sound better than it is.
Matthew Quigley: I reckon we're goin' in circles.
Crazy Cora: Wire things up and I'll see right through. So, just tell me honestly. Are we lost?
Matthew Quigley: Nope. I know exactly where we are.
Crazy Cora: That's good, 'cause, frankly, I was gettin' a little worried.
