Funny / Mrs. Munger's Class

Go To

  • In the episode "Tallest Building," Mrs. Munger takes her class on a field trip to the tallest building in town - which is four stories high.
    • "Now class, from here you can see all the way to Division Street!" "This IS Division Street!" "Well, yes, but..."
  • In "Rock's Song", Rock zaps each one of the students into oblivion when he takes over the classroom, replacing all of them (Minus Lance) with alien replicants! (It all turns out to be in Rock's head.)
    • Doubly funny as it turns out instead to be a dream within a dream in Mrs. Munger's' head, when she awakes Rock and he replies with, "Sorry, Mom", causing her to wake up wailing to her many, many cats.
    • When Rock zaps Mahoot, instead of "What?" he seems to instead shout "Oh boy!"
      • Listen closely, he says "At-Whay?" - "What?" in pig-latin.
  • In "President's Day" all the students come in dressed as their favorite president. When it's Theodore's turn to say which president he is, he replies Jimmy Carter, and proceeds to contort his head into that of the real Jimmy Carter, causing the entire class to scream in horror.
  • In "Substitute Teacher", the field hockey coach Ms. Wiener is left in charge of the class, and every time one of them puts on their usual antics she orders them to drop and do twenty push-ups. They eventually riot for Mrs. Munger's return, so she forces all of them to do push-ups (Except Phoebe).
  • In "Fire Safety", the field hockey coach returns as a fire chief to discuss fire safety. Theodore tells her he likes her hat, and spends the entire episode demanding it. At the end when everyone goes to lunch, Theodore can be seen walking away wearing her hat.
  • This gem from Karyn in "Calisthenics" when Mrs. Munger suggests daily exercises every day at the start of class.
Karyn: My aunt exercised every day of her life.
    Mrs. Munger: And....?
Karyn: She was run over by a train.
    Mrs. Munger: Oooooookay.....
  • In "Exchange Student", Mahoot is sent to Sri Lanka as part of a foreign exchange student program. His replacement, Farkwar, speaks in a stereotypical American accent. When Mahoot returns, he shares a photo he took while in Sri Lanka, which is just a Sri Lankan variation of Mrs. Munger's class.
  • In "Simmer Minute", Mrs. Munger orders her rowdy class to stay silent for one minute. During the silence, we're treated to the class's thoughts, including Lance and Rock communicating to each other via telepathy, Phoebe's consisting of the sounds of car crashes, Dawn trying to think of what to say to Mrs. Munger after the minute is up, the Georges (and Mrs. Munger) wondering what the other George is thinking, and Mahoot having radio static.
  • When Mrs. Munger asks if anyone can give her an example of an onomatopoeia (a word that sounds like the thing it describes:
    Lance: "Arder-lay?"
Mrs. Munger: "No, Lance, 'arder-lay' or 'larder', is a place to store meat. It does not describe a sound."
  • When the class gets a class pet, Rupert the turtle, which they agitate until it bites some of them.
    Artie: "RUPERT IS DEVIL-TURTLE!"
Mrs. Munger: "No, Artie, Rupert is not the devil. He just doesn't like to be teased."
