  • In the opening scene Hanka Robotics' Dr. Osmond is trying to sell cybernetics to an African politician who is skeptical about the risks they pose to humans. When the hacked robot Geisha serving tea to Osmond starts spilling it on him the politician smugly says, "this is what i mean!" When the Geishas start attacking a moment later his shocked reaction is also pretty funny.
  • This exchange when Batou gets his new eyes.
    • From the same conversation:
    Batou: Say something nice?
Major: -taking a moment to examine his new eyes- You chose those?
  • Togusa's reaction upon learning that Ishikawa got a cyberupgrade purely to let him drink more beer.
  • Togusa putting his coffee mug down in the middle of a hologram of a crime scene is a minor but amusing touch, highlighting how utterly mundane such a simulation is in this film's Cyberpunk setting.
  • Batou pushing the cybernetic hustler in the streets when he and the Major were walking. The bystanders saw what happened, but decided to leave the guy alone.
  • When The Major, handcuffed to a stripper pole, proceeds to start beating the tar out of the Yakuza thugs, the Yakuza boss can be seen still clapping and laughing at the show before getting open-palm face smacked hard enough to get sent flying through the door.
