Fridge / The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie

Fridge Brilliance

  • Why the Pirates are in Jonah A Veggietales Movie: At the end of the movie, the ball that sent them back in time in the first place reappears and blinks again. The ball takes them to Jonah's time and leaves them there until the movie events happen. Then they come back using the ball and tell the story to the kids in Jonah. Also explains Khalill's presence (besides Rule of Funny).

Fridge Horror

  • George, Elliot, and Sedgewick got pulled into the past by the Help-Seeker after they lost their job. At the end of the movie they go back to their time and back to the restaurant they were fired from. It's not the same night they left; it seems to be at least the night following, since their boss mentions the previous night. Meaning that while they were off dealing with pirates in the past, they were gone for at least twenty-four hours in their own time. Didn't George's wife and kids and Sedgewick and Elliot's girlfriends even notice they were missing?
    • It is possible that the Help-Seeker also has Time Dilation abilities, considering how if the trio's families were at the restaurant. If it had really been a whole week, it's highly unlikely they'd be at the restaurant rather than searching for them.
  • While it's not as open as some other elements as it's hard to confirm, it's entirely possible that, given the "trust your Heavenly Father" metaphor of the story, Alexander genuinely didn't know when his father intended to return, meaning that the Sadistic Choice his uncle forced on him could have ended with his sister dead no matter what choice he made as Robert would have almost certainly pulled a You Have Failed Me if Alexander had guessed wrong about the time of his father's return.
  • At no point is Alexander and Eloise's mother brought up. Considering how we're never given specifics of how Robert's attempted takeover of Monteria went down, it's very likely that he killed her.
    • Why else would Alexander address him by his full name and not "Uncle"? A simple hostile takeover wouldn't be enough, but if Robert killed someone else in the Royal Family, then...
    • Furthermore, why else would the King gun down his ship without a second thought instead of trying to reason with him? Also, why else would the King exile him instead of locking him up or executing him?

Fridge Sadness

  • While the "Rock Monster" video has the whole cast singing and dancing, that seems separate from the story and just shows them as the Animated Actors that they are. However, as far as the actual storyline goes, George and his friends are from the present, while Eloise and her family are all in the seventeenth century. That beautiful friendship/semi-paternal relationship George forms with Eloise? Once he's back in the present, she's long since grown up and died.
