Fridge / Dead Ahead Zombie Warfare

Fridge Brilliance

  • Naked and Crazy are the Cannon Fodder units for the Marauders. Obviously, lots of Naked's skin has already started becoming infected, and Crazy has almost turned himself. Even though it's unclear if Naked could live with his condition, or even cure it. Assuming he can't, then it makes sense why they're the expendable ones: they have nothing left to live for if they're going to die soon anyway. So, they might as well help out their fellow survivors in their last days or moments.
    • The trend can continue with Lubber. Even though he's a Heavily Armored Mook, he still uses melee against other humans with guns. When you look at his hands, you'll notice that they're green and infected like Naked's hands, albeit to a lesser degree, and his mouth appears to have blood coming out. It appears that the closer a Marauder is to death, the less self-preservation they have for themselves.
    • The two Marauders who have absolutely no physical signs of being infected, Robber and Biker, are backline fighters who use their powerful guns first.
  • How come Lubber doesn't turn into Bulletproof upon death, despite the fact that they even share the same helmet sprite design, like Bulletproof was made for him? Besides gameplay reasons (having to fight the same bullet resistant enemy twice) Undead has a negligible amount of bullet resist, at only 30%. Maybe his flak jacket got torn off? Unfortunately, you'll have to fight the same enemy four extra times.
  • Biker has 80% melee resistance and full fire immunity, which can seem extremely weird. Unless you consider what he’s wearing: a leather jacket and motorcycle helmet. Leather isn’t flammable, and vehicle helmets were made to cushion the head from hard, physical impact.
  • Zombies get alerted to the bus once a unit comes out the door. However, when the Agents do it, their seemingly silenced weapons don't prompt zombies to attack.
  • Flamethrower's range gets cut in half if there's a sandstorm going on. Fitting, since flames do get carried by air currents.
    • Likewise, SpecOps comes out of the bus like every other unit during a sandstorm instead of parachuting in. If he were to drop into the fight, he'd be caught by the sandstorm's high winds and would be blown away.
  • The earliest sign of the blue energy's existence is the Charged Zombie, a Dark Skeleton exposed to the blue energy greatly, and is now mostly glowing blue, they can be first encountered in Location 3. Now, why are they the earliest zombie effected by blue energy you encounter? Being described as the fastest zombie, and in game, moving at lightning-fast speeds, it makes sense that they were able to travel the farthest distance away from Cephalopods, into lots of outer areas using that high speed. It's a miracle they didn't commit suicide on the way, though, because they have tendency to hit even Red Barrels unintentionally once you start facing them. It also doesn't explain the affliction of Demons, which appear around the same area, as they are comparatively slow.
  • Carlos isn’t a military man, or in any kind of position where he’d have experience with firearms, he looks like a normal civilian. In fact, his backstory explained that he’s an immigrant who crossed the border illegally into the United States. It lines up because anyone more experienced with firearms would know better than to dual wield guns. As even if it’s cool, it’s highly impractical.
  • Dr. Sanchez is the only Scientist/Scientist skin that doesn't wear a hazmat suit, being a lab coat instead. It makes sense when you consider that Saw is the only member of the team who lacks poison resistance.
Fridge Logic
  • So, Firefighter has his exclusive explosion immunity, but his undead form loses it? Maybe his mask shattering when he falls makes that much of a difference?
  • What happens to the units still on the battlefield when a mission ends? Because Bill just drives off without them, and so you'll have to start each mission with a new batch of units.
    • This has been changed since the 4.0.0 update, Bill now lets the units on the field return to the bus.
  • How does Glenn survive getting poisoned, stabbed, and shot? Well, besides that being a Plot Armor joke. Dead units on the ground aren't supposed to be poisoned anyways.
  • Where does SpecOps drop out of the sky from? Does he actually have a helicopter he uses every time he wants to make his appearance?
  • The professional soldier who is part of a higher level extraordinary military organization and SWAT team, (Swat) and the military man and paratrooper who was part of a special forces group, (SpecOps) both have some of the worst accuracy in the game. Do you know who has way better accuracy than both of them? The untrained, normal civilian/immigrant who dual wields his guns, (Carlos) and the inexperienced researcher who hip fires a stockless SMG and can’t control its recoil so much that he has to physically step back while firing. (Dr. Kane)
    • And how does a Sheriff who fires her revolver one-handed (Charlotte) have better accuracy than the actual sniper with an appropriate sniper rifle? (Polina)
  • The Sapper is a Dark Skeleton wearing an EOD suit, which grants it heavy resistances to both bullet and melee attacks. Yet they somehow have no resistance against explosions, the thing EOD suits are designed to protect against. It also gets torched as a bonus point.
