Trivia / Dead Ahead Zombie Warfare

  • Ascended Fanon: Mobirate have acknowledged Lilly – the popular Rule 63 version of Willy. She was added as a Scientist skin for said unit, and was based on a fan-created design for the described concept.
  • Dummied Out: The Smoker is a zombie that has been removed from the game for being "unorignal", from Mobirate's words. Although it's still in the game's files, it cannot be encountered in any way.
  • Development Hell: The game has went through it multiple times, mostly because of Mobirate shifting their focus to other projects. The biggest update drought in the game's history happened from Christmas 2019 to October 2021, with only a few bug fixes released between those date.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content: Mobirate is well aware of how much DA:ZW fans love to create their own units and skins, and has given the fandom multiple opportunities to get their ideas added into the game through art contests. Carol, Light Soldier, and Agents were all created by old users of KTPlay, and multiple in-game skins were created by fan-artists on Reddit.
  • What Could Have Been: A PC version of DA:ZW, back when it was called "Dead Ahead: Quarantine", was planned to be released on Steam. It was submitted to Steam Greenlight in 2015 on the 15th of December, and got accepted on December 30th. However, for an unknown reason, this version of the game was scrapped, and Quarantine wouldn't see the light of day until the game's release on iOS in January of the next year. The Steam version also had multiple features that didn't make it into the mobile build, or were drastically changed:
    • Rage didn't exist yet, and all support items were evaluated in courage.
    • The game used to be linear, and maps of each stage were much larger, albeit more barren too.
    • All units had different sprites, with Chopper, Carlos, and Charlotte being the most notable examples. Chopper had a completely different outfit, Carlos only wielded one gun, and Charlotte's breasts were much smaller.
    • Cashier and the nail can were present in that build of the game, but were ultimately scrapped. Only the former made it back in the game, long into its lifespan.
