These are recommendations made by Tropers for Sing fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on their respective pages. Feel free to add a fanfic recommendation of your own to the appropriate list, but remember to use the template found here.

Reviews of fics are encouraged, but if you do write one, please make it substantive and give specific details about what you liked or disliked about the fic. If you want to give a fic a thumbs-up without writing a full review, you can add your troper handle to the Recommendations Line.   • Synopsis: In the months following his family's arrest, Johnny is struggling to live on his own and support himself, to the point where even his friends start to notice his fatigue, so they all decide to do something to help him.
  • Comments: A heartwarming three-part story that explores Johnny's relationships with his theater family and his gangster family, as he tries to come to terms with the new status quo in his life.

Long Night by Shadowbeast123.

  • Synopsis: When Mike is finally cornered by the gangster bears that want him dead, Johnny steps in to protect him and is severely injured in the process, much to the horror of all his friends and loved ones.
  • Comments: A bittersweet story that explores what Johnny means to each one of his loved ones, in the wake of a near-tragedy.

  • Synopsis: A sequel to "Long Night". After his close-shave with death, Johnny continues to gain his strength back and is supported by his friends during his recovery, while he tries not to lose hope that he may someday be reunited with his father.
  • Comments: A more light-hearted sequel to “Long Night” that continues to flesh out Johnny's background and his relationships with his friends and family.

  • Synopsis: In an alternate universe story, Johnny finally manages to bail his family out of jail and is avoiding talking to his father more than he has to, who unbeknownst to him feels remorse over his actions.
  • Comments: A short but touching story that explores a different direction Johnny's estranged relationship with his father could have gone down, after the events of the movie.

  • Comments: A cute little one-shot that touches on the bond the Moon Theater troupe have, as they all work together to do a kindness for one of their own.

  • Synopsis: Just when it seems like things are going well for the theater animals, Buster and Meena are both sent to jail temporarily for the crimes they've committed recently. Thankfully, they manage to find some unexpected allies behind bars.
  • Comments: A short but sweet story about the bond Buster and Meena share during hard times, as they discover something new about one of their friends.

  • Synopsis: An alternate-universe story. When his father is kidnapped, Johnny is determined to find him, and he reluctantly allows his new friends to help him, as he finds himself targeted by some of his father’s old enemies.
  • Comments: A tense mystery-drama that dives into both Johnny's background and the criminal underworld of Calatonia, as he and his friends embark on a dangerous rescue mission.

What Doesn't Kill You by Sadistic Barry.

  • Synopsis: Johnny is mortally wounded by the bear gang, who want to kill the son of their greatest rival. Johnny survives their attempt on his life, but now he has to face the possibility of his family's criminal past endangering the new life he's made for himself in the present, as a gang war brews.
  • Comments: A suspenseful crime-drama that explores the full consequences of a gangster's lifestyle, as Johnny tries to protect his new friends at the theater, while his clan tries to protect him.

Look After My Son by Animation Universe 2005.

  • Synopsis: A few days after Moon Theater's singing competition, Big Daddy receives several unexpected visitors in prison, who want to talk to him about his son.
  • Comments: A bittersweet epilogue that reflects on Big Daddy's character development and his thoughts about his son’s newfound independence.

I'm Still Proud Of You by Animation Universe 2005.

  • Synopsis: A sequel to "Look After My Son". During one of Johnny's visits to Calatonia's prison, he and his father come to terms with everything that's happened recently, as they continue to slowly mend their relationship.
  • Comments: Like its predecessor, this one-shot is a bittersweet coda to the events of the film that gives Johnny and Big Daddy's relationship an extra sense of closure.

  • Comments: An equally funny follow-up story to its predecessor, that continues to portray Johnny the gorilla as a rather sneaky and chaotic character underneath his friendly exterior.
