• Comments: All of her stories are very sweet for the most part. Most of them are cute little drabbles centered around a specific character, like New Arrivals, which focuses on Jamfoot as he struggles with isolation during his time on Snaktooth up until Bronica and Clumby arrive. Then we have Intruders, which again focuses on Jamfoot as he returns to the Triplicate Space only to find that his stuff has been rooted through. View from the Top is a cute little story about Clumby and Bronica climbing the Frosted Peak. And finally, we have Looking In Your Eyes, I'm Coming Home and Now I Realize, I'm Not Alone, which both center on Floofty and their relationship with their brother. The former is longer than a drabble but still well worth a read!

• Comments: Kit does a wonderful job with the characters she writes, namely Kit Autumnup who is her main OC. Kit comes from an abusive upbringing with her father in the Snakolytes and as a result of said abuse, she lacks self-confidence, is reluctant and unsure as to how to form meaningful relationships and has even suffered a panic attack simply from being asked if she was alright! However, she is a very well-rounded character that has her ups and downs and each story reflects that. The two parts of the "Snakolyte arc", Mission: Snaktooth and Grumpuses go to therapy, do a good job focusing on both the OC's and the canon characters as well as their relationships with each other. Just be warned that Kit is in a relationship with Floofty for most of these stories so if Canon/OC relationships aren't your thing, you might want to exercise caution.

• Comments: This author almost always knocks it out of the park with their works. Whether it'd be With Me and it's companion piece, The Roots We Keep^note The first story focuses on the Cromdo/Wiggle pairing as she helps him run his brand new karaoke bar to attempt to gain some inspiration for a new song, and the second deals with Lizbert and Eggabell back on Snaktooth where Eggabell is struggling with loneliness and so, Lizbert decides to use the various Snaxsqautches found on the island to create clones of their friends to try to help her but as you can imagine, things... go wrong. This is a horror story with romantic elements tied into it., or Dance With Somebody^note which again deals with the Cromdo/Wiggle pairing as they bond during and after dancing at a party, Floofty Fizzlebean's Guide to Parturiency^note which follows Floofty and Gramble as they attempt to become parents and their trials and tribulations as Floofty goes through the pregnancy, lays the egg and attempts to keep it safe from all of the dangers around it or Rendezvous Is A Funny Word^note Which shows Floofty becoming an author and writing risque stories from Beffica's stories of her past that become unexpectedly popular, which unfortunately winds up attracting the wrong kinds of attention., I am certain that you'll find something you like. Their favorite pairings include Filbo/The Journalist ^note or "Buddy", Chandlo/Snorpy and Cromdo/Wiggle, though they do dabble in other pairings on occasion. However, be warned that all of their works are rated either M or E for mature subject matter and/or explicit sexual content. So just keep that in mind and be sure to read the tags.

• Synopsis: This story follows a version of Wambus Troubleham with a very different upbringing, he has been raised under the most cutthroat and underground criminal organization in modern grumpus civilization. While on Lizbert's expedition, the journalist never makes it to Snaktooth island. In their place are Wambus's partner in crime and best friend, Gyiel (Gee-yell) Scratchback; who has much worse intentions. Wambus must keep his double life a secret from the rest of the group while helping Gyiel with their mission.
• Comments: As you can probably tell from the synopsis, this is a canon divergent AU which follows Wambus as he's forcibly recruited into a criminal gang from when he was a young teenager and has to now work alongside them. It features a few different OC's alongside the canon characters and both the characters and the story are sure to keep you engaged. It also helps that the comic pages are well drawn, as well.

General Fics

An Arm and a Leg by Brokenpitchpipe

• Synopsis: There’s… something, between them. A strand of twine, perhaps, frayed and fragile, barely able to sustain the weakest tug of tension. And Floofty, for reasons they do not yet understand, does not want to break it. "Come live with me." (Chandlo moves in with Floofty after they escape from Snaktooth Island. They process their grief in two very different ways: Chandlo does, and Floofty does not.)
• Comments: Lovely story in which Floofty and Chandlo become roommates after the end of the game, where everyone but Snorpy made it out alive. It's heart wrenching at times, bittersweet at others and does a great job at keeping everyone in character. Just be warned that there are several depictions of panic attacks throughout this story, so if that's a sensitive topic for you, proceed with caution or don't read this story.

A Bubbly Discovery by messbianarts

• Synopsis: Triffany finds strange evidence of a new Grumpus on Snaktooth Island. The residents of Snaxburg are on edge, but is their anxiousness really justified?
• Comments: This is such an adorable story! Not just because of Triffany and Wambus having some cute moments together as a married couple but also because of the little grumpling they find stranded on Snaktooth named Bubbles. The three of them are just SO cute together! However, you need to be warned that while this story is mostly fluffy, the second chapter brings up fertility issues in that Triffany and Wambus can't have biological children. So, if discussions of things like that make you uncomfortable, proceed with caution.

• Synopsis: One of Clumby's employees comes to her with a new lead, bringing back memories that she can't let slip, and can't seem to keep buried. Or, the opening scene of the game, from Clumby's perspective.
• Comments: This will make you feel sorry for Clumby, regardless of whether or not you like the grumpy old woman.

• Comments: This will hit you right in the feels because it gives Filbo his own bad ending. So just be warned of that.

• Synopsis: A compelling saga of love, hate, trust, betrayal, and all that grief entails! Join Riamam Lampnom, as she journies through with the expedition of grumps who had ventured to her home island of Snaktooth, uncovering mysteries of the island, uncovering the magical truths, and fighting off pretenders from the shadows. Grief is a powerful thing. Will she be stronger than it?
• Comments: This series has a lot of potential! From the intriguing OC of Riamam and her relationship with the canon characters, to the concept of the AU itself and then to how it's actually written, I'm quite excited to see how things play out! Just be warned that there are some pretty heavy topics discussed and explored in the second book. So be sure to heed the tags and trigger warnings.

• Synopsis: What if, in the post game, there was more to the story than meets the eye? What if, after everything, the Bugsnax remained in the Krew's lives? And, with the one Grumpus who was immune to them, becoming their Queen? An exploration of the lore hidden in the video game Bugsnax; featuring world building, new characters and plenty of mind twisting to be had, grey areas existing at every corner.
• Comments: Hoo BOY, are these stories something else! The AU begins right after everyone escapes from Snaktooth and continues to this day as it covers how Budleguard, the Journalist - or "Buddy" - in these stories, becomes the true Queen of the Bugsnax and now has a responsibility to look after both Grumpus-kind and Snax-kind to attempt to reintegrate both societies to each other all the while the Snakolytes - the main antagonists in this AU - are still somewhat at large and need to be dealt with. The AU is going to be a long one and as such, it is far from over and I'm waiting with baited breath to find out what happens! There are also illustrations for each chapter of the first two stories and the inter-connecting plot is incredibly captivating and will surely keep you on the edge of your seat! Just be warned that there are potential trigger warnings for each chapter that the author is sure to post at the beginning author's note every new update. So be sure to keep an eye out for those and to read the tags.

• Synopsis: Floofty never realized how much their brother actually meant to them... until he was gone. And they never imagined that their brother's lover would reach out to help them.
• Comments: As you can probably tell by the synopsis, this is a rather bittersweet fic that will more than likely make you cry.

• Synopsis: Triffany and Elizabert go spelunking, and Triffany attempts one of the tightest squeezes of the cave they’re in. When she goes down the wrong way and ends up suspended upside down in pitch darkness, she realizes the Lottablog method’s fatal flaw.
• Comments: As you can probably tell from the summary, this is a horror story based off of the Nutty Putty Cave incident. Terrifying and really does a good job at showcasing just how dangerous spelunking can be.

• Pairings: Minor Cromdo/OC ^note It's mostly implied and in the background, so don't worry.
• Synopsis: Ten years after the fact, the members of Elizabert Megafig's disastrous expedition have managed to pick up the pieces, rebuild their lives, and ultimately move on from the tragedy. Some with more success than others. One day, Wiggle comes to visit Gramble and invite him on a luxury cruise. Don't they all deserve a real vacation every once in a while?
• Comments: This is a spectacular blend of friendship, fluff, humor and suspense that starts out a bit slow only to slowly but surely evolve into something quite exciting to read! There are some OC's in this story, but they're all memorable in one way or another and they don't overshadow the canon characters, so don't worry. One last thing I especially like about this story is the fact that it briefly touches upon the trauma the characters would've gotten after the ending of the game, thus subverting Angst? What Angst?.

• Comments: This is SUCH an adorable story! It'll definitely give you lovely soft feelings!

Snaktooth's Last Secret by Snaktooth-Investigators (Audio_Interference)

• There's a follow-up comic here. Just remember to read it after you finish the fanfiction! You don't want to get spoiled!
• Status: Ongoing^note The fanfiction itself is complete but the sequel comic isn't.

• Synopsis: A dark secret looms... One last mystery remains.
• Comments: This is a 2nd person POV story where you are Buddy and it's set after the events of the game. In it, you enter a relationship with Filbo and help him and the rest of the expedition adjust back to their normal lives. It's romantic, fluffy and funny at times... And I'm afraid that's all I can say about this story without spoiling it. Just trust me and read it.

We Are Whatever We Eat! : A Bugsnax Novelization by Detective Loch

• Synopsis: After one too many disastrous articles, pessimistic journalist Player Shiverquill is given one last chance to keep their job by getting an interview with the ‘famed’ explorer Elizabert Megafig, and her new discovery: Snaktooth Island’s edible creatures called Bugsnax. They plan on getting in and getting out. No myths, no monsters, no cryptids. And definitely no attachments. That plan immediately collapses when they learn that Elizabert Megafig has completely disappeared without trace. Banding together with happy-go-lucky mayor Filbo Fiddlepie, who’s been down on said luck since a big fight broke everyone apart, Player sets out to find all the grumps who left town, interview them, in hopes of bringing to light what has happened to Elizabert. But as Player continues, more and more mysteries surround them and the island… and they learn that something sinister lies at the bottom of Snaktooth Island. Or; my attempt at novelization/adaption of the events of Bugsnax.
• Comments: As you can tell from both the title and the summary, this is a novelization of Bugsnax and a damned promising one at that! Player Shiverquill is a very entertaining and sympathetic Journalist OC and I am genuinely excited to see how things transpire for them and everyone else in this story! The only things you need to be warned of are some curse words, hence the Teen rating.

What A Wacky World by StylishAndViewtiful

• Synopsis: Life is wild. We all experience it in different ways. For one Alex McFarlane, he got the isekai treatment and winds up on an island where sanity goes to die and everyone hates each other. But hey, at least he's alive. It's not all sunshine and rainbows though. Now, let's laugh at this Scottish cunt's twattery since he ain't leaving any time soon.
• Comments: This is an interesting spin on the game with an isekai protagonist who dies in a car accident and gets transported to Snaktooth Island, where he's then discovered by Lizbert. She then brings him back to Snaxburg and even though everyone is quite startled, confused and sometimes amazed by the presence of a human amongst them, he quickly settles into their society. But that's not to say that there aren't problems, such as the infighting and Alex's short temper. Everyone is kept in character fairly well and the protagonist is very well-written and flawed, making him a well-rounded character. And the events of the game are kept mostly the same as well, just with some changes.

• Synopsis: "A temporary roommate wouldn't be so bad. Perhaps they had gotten used to the shared living space in Snaxburg. More selfishly, they could help 'one of their own' and learn. Gramble was painfully empathetic, and Floofty was not. Maybe some of his charm would rub off on them if they breathed the same air for a period." Floofty convinces Gramble to go back to college, but there's only one problem. Gramble can't afford to live on his own, let alone drive to school without a license. Floofty impulsively makes him an offer; stay with them until he can earn enough to move out. No catch. Along the way Floofty tries to figure out this 'empathy' thing, and Gramble navigates all the confusing emotions that come with dating(?) Wiggle. But the year drags on, and things and feelings change. Hopefully, for the better.
• Comments: This story has a good mixture of both fluff and angst along with some humorous moments as it explores Gramble's and Floofty's gradually budding relationship, with awkward moments (especially on Floofty's side of things) and touches upon Gramble's abandonment issues. There are some complications along the way, such as Floofty feeling jealous towards Wiggle for her past relationship Gramble, but they push through and grow fond of each other. Just keep in mind that there is sexual content in the last two chapters of this story. So if you don't like that sort of thing, proceed with caution.

How To Pick Up A Hawt Grumpus by Freelance_Magic

• Synopsis: Filbo has a crush on his roommate, Buddy. So he does what any reasonable grumpus would do, he asks his friends for advice! This should be simple, right? ...Right?
• Comments: This is a sweet and rather amusing little tale that's pretty much Exactly What It Says on the Tin; Filbo realizes that he has a crush on Buddy and decides to go around and ask all of his friends for advice on how to best approach a potential relationship with them. It's short, it's sweet and it's funny. What more could you ask for?

• Synopsis: Life has not been going Snorpington's way recently. It has lead to him being a homebody, rarely able to manage the strength to get out of bed given how badly life has been beating him down recently. Luckily, his best friend Chandlo is his knight in shining armour.
• Comments: This oneshot will more then likely leave you feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside. It starts out somewhat depressing, but quickly becomes fluffy and adorable as it explores the author's interpretation of the ferris wheel makeout session Snorpy and Chandlo had as referenced from the game.

• Synopsis: Floofty finds Buddy's behaviour a bit odd, they were always smiling around them and seeking out their company. It was a bit odd and Floofty found their own feelings and tolerance for Buddy confusing. But it didn't bother them that much. After all they had plenty of time to figure it out.
• Comments: Be warned before you read this: it WILL make you cry! Heck, I don't even ship Floofty and Buddy together and I was crying my eyes out by the end!

Dark fics

• Pairing: N/A
• Synopsis: An unfortunate grumpus stumbles onto somthing they should not have found and pays the price. A young Snakolyte makes a grave mistake and creates a monster.
• Comments: This is a dark fic that features things like force-feeding and body horror, so if anything like that triggers you, turn back now. With that being said, holy crap this is a great story! Just the right amount of intensity and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat! The characters of Sal and Azzy are both really well done and you feel bad for Azzy for what happens to them while at the same time, you both hate and feel sorry for Sal. She was responsible for almost killing Azzy but she certainly didn't mean to turn them into a snakified creature, and the last line in this story reflects that. Regardless of what happens next, I'm eagerly waiting with bated breath to see the fallout of Sal's actions! Just remember to heed the trigger warnings in the tags.

• Synopsis: A poor journalist uncovers something they REALLY shouldn't have. Will they even make it out ALIVE?
• Comments: This is a Bugsnax Horror AU RP Blog about some of the original grumps (i.e. Buddy, Wambus, Floofty, Eggabell, Beffica and Snorpy as well as some other spoiler characters) getting trapped on Snaktooth Island where, instead of the Bugsnax, there's this seemingly sentient goo that turns whoever ingests it insane and basically turns them into zombies. It's as intense and depressing as you can imagine while also being heartwarming and funny at other times so it's not overwhelming angst all the time. However, be warned that there is body horror and intense torture scenes in this story. So be careful if you're triggered by those things.

• Synopsis: A rewritten version of the pilot episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Floofty goes alongside their new companion, a small colt named Eriyah Sweetarbor, into the small town of Snaxburg to monitor the Summer Sun Celebration. Along the way, they’re made to get along with several others, mostly unknown.
• Comments: This is a very interesting fic! The first chapter is almost 13,000 words long and as such, you know it's going to be a ride! As the summary says, it's a sort of remake of the pilot episodes of the My Little Pony cartoon just with a mixture of Bugsnax characters reimagined as ponies and the other's being OC's. And don't worry, you don't need any in-depth knowledge of the show to enjoy this story.
